If playoff had same criteria as last year with 4 conference champs getting bye they’d likely be getting a first round bye in playoff too.

ETA at least they fixed that ^^^^
actually. It was a necessary evil. Imagine Ohio State vs Indiana if that was at stake tomorrow. I think it was a short-sighted decision.

Yep. The non power 5 teams need a path but they have to have legit seasons like Boise or Cincinnati did back in the day.

The playoff is 12 teams, not 4 anymore

They’re already 20th and dominating the conference championship against an 11-1 team lol I really don’t see how this is so different from Boise state last year.

it’s 1 playoff spot to the top G5 team that will almost always have a first round exit. There’s already 7 at large bids available. Relax

For real. You really feel 5 sec team instead of 6 in the playoff is an injustice?

Who gives a shite. You are arguing over teams outside everyone’s top 10.

Ohio state Indiana winner should just play Georgia or, if Alabama wins, Texas tech.

The other negative happens when playing P5 teams (negative for both teams): Ole Miss doesn't get credit for the win, but Tulane gets punished for the loss.

Make it make sense. (It's a reversal if the G5 team wins though: All the credit to G5, extreme punishment for P5, as it should be)

It's not worth it for either P5 nor G5 teams to schedule each other unless it's some type of rivalry or instate teams because of that one fact.

On the other hand, the entire reason Tulane is ranked the highest out of the G5s even though it has two losses is b/c they also beat bowl bound Northwestern and ACC title game participant Duke.

You haven’t watched them. Ole Miss game was a really hard physical game. Ole Miss won third down on both sides in the first half. Ask Kiffen if Sumrall is a good coach
