Was David Wright’s 2006-2008 the best offensive three year stretch in MLB history?

Over .900 OPS from 2006-2008
Over 180 hits per season from 2006-2008

Gold glove awards ‘07-‘08

30-30 club in 2007

One of the great “what ifs” of the post-2000’s. Dude just couldn’t stay healthy.

Not even close. Is this serious?

It was a great stretch, but I'm going with Pujols 03-05
.359 - 43 - 124
.331 - 46 - 123
.330 - 41 - 117

Barry Bonds had a 1.361 OPS from 2002-04

Yeah. Bonds is the only answer.
Also I like how OP put "offensive three year stretch" then listed gold gloves

Makes David Wright look like Melvin Mora

I enjoyed his constant bitching about Citi Field dimensions.

Yep.
He was such a great hitter, too.

No.
No, man.
shite no, man.
It's not even the best '06-'08 stretch by a third baseman. Miggy had more homers, more RBI, and a higher OPS. They are pretty close though.
ETA: Miggy did play mostly 1B in '08 because Detroit had Carlos Guillen who was an All-Star at 3B, but still.

Hell Chipper had a higher OPS than both of them during that stretch.

As a Mets fan, no. As someone else mentioned, Miggy played the same position in the same division and were roughly the same age and was significantly better offensively. Wright would be in the Hall though if he didn't get beamed in the head. He was scared of inside pitches for about 2 seasons after.

Considering it compares favorably to 2004-2006 Aramis Ramirez . . . probably not.

You could also take any three year stretch from Babe Ruth startingin 1919 and ending in 1933. He only had an OPS below 1.000 once and it was an injury season where he played 98 games.
That's 15 seasons with an average line of 132/44/134 and an OPS of 1.201.
His 162-game average over that span was 152/52/157. For 15 years.
