When did you stop paying attention?

I might have some news for you.

I mean I still glance at the news but I'm not reading in depth articles anymore.

A breakthrough case here and there isn't much of a worry as no vaccine is 100% and please don't try and say people who have been vaccinated are just as likely to spread COVID as the unvaccinated b/c I do know that ain't true.

I actually meant to quote the post above you. My bad.

Essentially I was getting at that if you want to call your state or local govt fascist for vaccine mandates you'd have to be saying the US has been a fascist country for a century b/c vaccines mandates are nothing new and have established precedent int he courts.

I just got lazy w/my response was all.

Wiggins makes an ungodly amount of money for a player with his stats. Something like $25-30m a season.

Cali would be forgoing taxes on about 60% of that between home games as well as games in Sacramento and LA.

But

I think they actually did prove that vaxxed people spread it equally

Hell I don’t know. I don’t pay that much attention to it either. Like you, I’m not scared of covid.

How was nothing done about smoking in public for so long with a Supreme Court ruling like this?

On that one I'm getting that info from by sister in law's husband who is an AFSOC surgeon. He says those claims are based off a fairly bad misinterpretations of the data.

My wife's brother is a bit of an antivaxer and so I've been privy to some... let's say spirited family zoom discussions. My BIL and SIL are no longer on speaking terms and his vaccine stance is a big part of it so I've heard her husband go on and on about how he needs to stop bringing up (his words) "bullshite he finds online to feel better about being wrong all the fricking time".

He stays pretty up to date on this kind of stuff so I'm going to take his word for it.

They aren't zoom calls for COVID. They do a family zoom every Sunday (or did anyways, not sure how this standoff is going to effect that). The vaccine stuff comes up b/c BIL refuses to get vaxxed and SIL says that means he can't come and see their kid and that he should stay in Cali away from their mom b/c she's in her late 60s. Honestly, I think there's probably some other pent up sibling stuff that is fueling their anger towards each other and the vaccine stuff was just the breaking point.

Additionally, for those instances of a vaccinated person getting a breakthrough case, yes, they can be as infectious as an unvaccinated person.

The vaccinated may be infectious for shorter time frame and more reports that vaccinated are less likely to get confirmed Wuhan than ones like the Boston report, but asymptomatic infections & even very minor symptomatic infections with vaccinated also more likely to be under reported/tested which is increasing with policies like at Tiger Stadium and elsewhere that only require unvaccinated to be tested.

The below is from CDC about the Boston study.

asymptomatic breakthrough infections might be underrepresented because of detection bias
