no it wasn't and it aint exactly an off the wall thing to say in fact I've seen it written plenty times by NBA guys who are very well respected.

Cop out. Per par for you

This coming from you, the most homer-assed poster on this board.

Yeah, I'm a homer, but I don't say stupid shite all the time like you do and actually pick against my team's success pretty damn often.

Still waiting for you to slap me in the face with these facts you keep yammering about. I have literally just asked you to provide such, and you fail me again, despite trumpeting their abundance

Don't have a problem with them at all, just don't like seeing any teams being overrated.

nobody is overrating them this year and saying shite like they're gonna beat GSW, people are saying they could potentially give GSW a series...which is true considering how the first two games have gone.

They do say this team might be one of the better teams in the past decade, which is true when you look at wins, ORTG/DRTG, and how well they're playing as a whole.

This year sitting at 65-12 through 77 games
1st in SRS
4th ORTG: 110.8
1st DRTG: 98.5
+12.3 RTG differential

Last year's GSW through 77 games was 63-14.
1st in SRS
2nd ORTG: 111.6
1st DRTG: 101.4
+10.2 RTG differential

quote:

Yea and they almost lost to the Mavs in Rd1. They got hot at the perfect time. If OKC had Ibaka for a whole series good chance they don't even make the finals.

Because a 49 win 8th seed is a total pushover...

Ibaka came back and they split the next 4 going 2-2, both wins being at home. Then they lost the following game on the road and game 6 at home, all while Ibaka played 49 minutes in game 6.

At best they split the first two games (which they lost by a combined 52 points btw so I doubt they go 2-0), and then lose to SAS at home.

quote:

IDK about that, they wouldnt have even been favorites last year and if you rememvber correctly last season they lost out in rd 1 v LAC who is notorious for being a soft team.

What does being soft have anything to do with it? Memphis is a rough arse team yet they don't get very far...

Like losing to a 57 win clippers team is an embarrassment? Because their HISTORY sucks?

Want to know a funny story?
Since the turn of the 21st century, LAC have been to the playoffs a grand total of 5 times, bounced in the first round once and have advanced to the 2nd round in 3 of the last 4 years. So that means they have won a lackluster 4 series.

Houston on the other hand, has been to the playoffs 8 times, bounced in the first round 6 times, and have advanced to the 2nd round in only 2 of those 8 years. Ultimately finishing the series as WCF runner ups this past year. In total, CC has won 3 series since the turn of the century.

Want to know what's not "overrated"?
18 years in a row of playoffs, 3 first round exits, and 5 NBA finals.

Tbird, you stupid homer. your potential 70-win Spurs are nothing compared to the greatness of 2x in a row 1st team all-nba harden okay?

biggest fake tough guy team in the history of the leauge. This biggest media driven farce of the last decade in the NBA is that the Grizz were ever a title contender.

It really showed when SA couldn't crack 85 vs. CC on Christmas Day, when true championship basketball is forged.

I mean, the book on these Spurs was really written right then and there. It was all downhill after that

And let's not forget that Parker didn't even play the second half of that game 6

, but in most every other NBA season, these Spurs would be overwhelming title favorites

please do keep up JK.

So your argument that the 2015-2016 Spurs wouldn't be title favorites in most years is that they got knocked out early last year??? What in the frick?

This year's Spurs would be favored over last year's Warriors.

Let's hear your reasoning to differ. Should be amazing.

Yet it took a damn miracle for the Rocket boys to beat them in SEVEN games?

The two teams I'm fairly certain the Mathews less Blazers squad could have beaten last year was the Mavs because of al of their defensive inefficiencies and the Rockets for being soft mentally.

They are supremely talented but when it comes time to be mentally tough they will always be at a disadvantage and that's what we saw play out in rd 2 last year.

I'm fairly certain it would have been a 5 games series win for HOU just like the DAL series was. When you lose to the freaking Memphis Grizz and try to chirp like you would've beaten CC Houston if you had played them well let's just say you ain't giving anybody reason to respect your hoops acumen going forward.

Well they were the #1 offense and Defense in the whole league last season up until the last game or two of the season.

They have the best player on either team.

Good enough reasons for me.
