They were one of the best bcs teams to not win a title. Had Tressel started Troy Smith, I think the Buckeyes win that game.

I'd love to hear a Vince Young speech. As would Comedy Central.

Ironic considering Tim Tebow stole his speech from Varsity Blues which probably comes on Comedy Central.

And as big of an idiot that VY is, I don't think tebow is that much more intelligent.

Without Tebow they don't win in 06. Remember who scored all 3 TDs against LSU.
Well it kinda sucks for Leak that he drove down inside the five, and then Tebow came in

Im not sure why this is a debate, when a guy like Cam is so far ahead of the other two. Not only did Cam carry Chizik and his bag of misfit toys to the title(Tebows teams were fricking loaded compared to what Cam had), Cam has also proven just how fricking good he truly is by winning an NFL MVP.

Pretty sure that means Vince was not better

Timmy Chang has better stats than vy. Was he a better qb also?

That Oklahoma State game where he led them back from like 35-10 was incredible. He was an electric player. Kind of hard to compare the two because they had very different styles. Finesse (Young) vs. power (Tebow).

You are actually very wrong on this. There was a team that exact same year that shut down both Texas and notre dame. The Buckeyes D was dominant even in the loss to Texas.

The 05 defense was bad by Pete Carroll standards.

And if Ohio St played SIX more top 25 offenses they would of got burnt a few times as well. When you put it in to context 05 USC was as good as any other Pete Carroll D(except 08).

Did Timmy Chang play in the SEC or Big 12? Did Timmy Chang win a national title? Did Timmy Chang win a Heisman or even a finalist?

Vick was also a pretty good NFL qb as well.

Not really. He was better than Tebow and Vince Young, but that's not saying much.

Embarrassed? You don't know what you're talking about.

They played 7 top 25 scoring offenses
1.Texas
5.UCLA
6.Fresno St
7.Arizona St
8.Notre Dame
12.Oregon
21.Washington St
25.Cal

+ Hawaii who was #11 nationally in total offense lead by Colt Brennan

The only team that scored above their average vs USC was Fresno St

Texas scored 25 against tOSU, 40 against TAMU, 42 against Colorado...during the regular season...

But as many have said, VY didn't play all of the 2nd halves because TX was so far ahead.

The game before the National Champ game, TX scored 70 in a rematch with Colorado...then they scored 41 against USC.

Texas basically scored below their average of 50 points against USC...and Young of course was balls out and in every snap of the game.

The Ohio State game was also the first game of the year on the road.

Comparing the 05 Buckeye defense with the 05 USC defense lol. Year after year the truly elite defenses consistently get stops and shut down offenses. USC had a serviceable defense but weren't on the Buckeyes level that year.

Harvin was a bigger part of the Florida offense than people remember.

Give me one guy for a big game and I'm taking Young over Tim.

lol show me the team that has shut down 8 of the top 25 offenses in the same season... doesn't exist.

Oh and BTW 05 Ohio St gave up almost 600 yards to Minnesota.

They only shut down 6 top 25 offenses that year so terrible. Its not like Minnesota was 6th in total offense that year. You have USC fans disagreeing with you yet you still think a defense that faced 2 common opponents and struggled is better then a defense that shut down those same offenses.

Ohio St played #1 #8 #10 #13 #14 #20 scoring offenses which while a far cry from USC is amazing but even they got burned pretty bad by Minnesota.
