Im glad some one has partially confirmed what I saw on 2nd viewing.
The drunk girl was using her hip & extended her leg actually trying to prevent the guy from moving to the open spot.
I have said twice I would have maybe apologized /offered her a drink.
I don't see it as rewarding bad behavior, but simply trying to squash something so pettty from escalating.
But she is obviously using her leg & lower body to prevent him from the bar when there is an open space.

I could be way off on this, but it's my understanding that assault is the threat of violence and battery is the actual violence that is done to someone. One of my lawyer buddies told me a while ago that blowing smoke in someone's face can be considered assault.
ETA: Now that I think about it, the reasoning for the cigarette smoke thing being assault is that it is something actually touching you.

I'm not ok with the suspension at all.
She instigated about 5 times and punched him in the damn face. She stuck her leg and arse out to block him from the bar. She raised her right fist and threatened him. She kneed at him. She kicked at him. She punched him in the damn face. All while he was just trying to prevent her repeated attacks.
That is self defense at that point. Bitch honestly needed to be put down and one punch was not at all excessive. Man does that to a bigger stinger man, he is insanely lucky to take one quick pop and slightly bloody nose.
Smaller dude does that to me, the punch in the face is a tiny smidgen of a primer that is going to be followed by him getting his head slammed into the bar, a knee to the midsection, and a kick to break some ribs when he hits the floor.

That's probably simply because police don't get involved until some damage is actually caused. It doesn't mean a crime wasn't committed.

Here's what I saw. There was no bump. He used his body to shove her up against the bar and pin her there and she didn't like it. She turned and said something and things got ugly. She didn't knee him in the groin IMO. She raised her knee slowly. She did slap him and he retaliated like a bitch and punched her. Both parties are at fault. Alcohol.
