I coach a u12 soccer team and have at least 2 players that can kick a soccer ball 35 yards in the air.
I have to imagine you have more than that. 35 yards is just short of the center circle on the standard fields I played rec ball on. I took the goal kicks for my teams growing up most of the time and could get it around midfield around that age (probably a little younger, but I don't want to embellish

That's an even bigger joke than the kick heard round the world.

How would Serena do against the best high school boys tennis players?

The best high school boys players for tennis though are like top 200 for men
They would kill her

Is there really that big of a gap? I figured she’d at least be able to hang, but I don’t know much about tennis

Tennis is one of the most physical sports there is.

What’s her average serve mph versus the average pro’s (men’s) serve?

But she can only hit that with a flat ball, where men can still manipulate around that speed with spin

quote:It's more tahn just credits though. There's amateurism and all that fun stuff. Unless a player has started the process before for some reason or someone is able to pull some strings in the clearinghouse office it's unlikely to get done quickly.
It can be done extremely quick for someone already enrolled in college
Sending official college transcripts doesnt take any time to review. It isnt like checking a kids high school credits to make sure they qualify, which can be cumbersome due to how many different high schools there are etc

This is such a weird hill you've chosen to die on with regard to this situation. Especially considering the number of players already on the team that could have at the very least equaled her performance.

Yeah I'd think Serena could hang with HS boys tennis, although if we're talking about the very best HS players, maybe not? But surely her serve should be able to win her a good bit against HS kids.
Although there's the old example of that 15 year old soccer team that mopped the floor against the women's US squad, so who knows.

You’d think football players could kick, but most literally never have.

If you're a kick returner its basically 10 on 11, you'd be dumb to fair catch anything. Especially when she wont reach the end zone on a kick off. This stupid coach is going to get her killed and/or embarrassed.

She would get absolutely embarrassed

That was FC Dallas, so not just any random U15 team.
No doubt there are high school freshman that could beat Serena, but they’ll likely be pro tennis players at some level.

The only way I know of eligibility clearance quickly is if they’re already enrolled into the clearinghouse Otherwise it takes usually up to a month.
What was the deal with Mike Leach when he was at Texas Tech? Some student kicked a FG at halftime for some contest and Texas Tech had major kicking problems at that time so Leach brought him on and IIRC he was their starter the very next week.

There was some pro that was ranked around 130 or 140 in the ATP that played both Venus and Serena and he kicked their asses. Toyed with them. And he said he was hungover as hell the day he did it.
Not sure if Wonderful Queen Serena threw a tantrum after losing that match. She probably did, she always does.

quote:check back to my original post. im not using this to excuse the situation. she shouldnt have been kicking and i even said they should have used one of the players on roster already. Im just correcting this idea that they could have picked up some random dude off the street with no prior clearinghouse record and inserted him into the lineup for that game.

EAT: before having watched her kick and seeing the fiasco it turned into i defended her slightly because nobody on here had actually seen her. after watching what it turned in to there's no defending putting her on the field.

He was ranked 203... he did it because Serena or Venus said that they could beat any man outside the top 200.
