One thing that kept running through my mind as I watched that glorious upset in that tiny stadium. Why/how in the world would that game be scheduled at Old Dominion?

Because they are in the Conference USA.

Miami just traveled to Toledo for a MAC team

It's more common than you think. I think "Old Dominion" is throwing you off since they haven't been in the FBS very long.

I think NC State played there a couple years ago. Of course we also played at south Alabama, at Marshall yesterday, and at Troy in a couple years.

I think ACC tends to be ok with playing at these small schools more often than SEC

Although hasn’t la Tech hosted a couple SEC schools?

UNC played there last year.
The Heels also lost AT East Carolina 2 weeks ago.

Mississippi State is usually pretty good about traveling to play G5 teams. They've played at La Tech, South Alabama, Massachusetts to name a few. Texas A&M played in Ruston a few years ago. Most of the SEC will not play those games on the road (Bama, Florida, Auburn, LSU etc.)

Why is that good? Major programs don't generally do that. They absolutely don't do that with in-state programs.

SC is going to App St in a number of years and I think Miami made that trip couple years ago too.

ODU unveiled cool stadium plans today.

Only problem?

Scoreboard has a case of wishful thinking! ??

They played Ole Miss or MSU in Shreveport a few years ago. IDK if they've ever played anybody on campus.
