if you can give me a solid, logical reason why, i'll be very impressed.

agreed... call me when these #1 ranked little badasses even so much as start in high school baseball (for someone good)
hope they're having fun, but i judge little kids teams on the players they bring to the next level

If he's in the Dallas Tigers organization, they're legit. They won the National World Series a couple of years ago, which is much tougher than the LLWS.

Dallas Tigers
The best organization in the state of Texas by far. We really promote and develop players as good as anyone in the country. Outstanding instruction and good families who stay involved because they love and respect the game that has contributed so much to them.
Zach Lee was one of our outstanding seniors last year. Almost ended up an LSU Tiger last year, but decided to sign with the LA Dodgers instead.
The Owner of the organization is a great man who individually instructs my son and talks to me throughout the year (even the offseason), and my son is just a boy and not yet a major recruit

Only one that would really rival you would be Banditos Black. Looks like they've infiltrated Louisiana as a couple of NOLA teams are sporting their moniker this year.

They have national rankings in USSSA? I would understand regional or even state...but national?

This organization is awesome at showcasing our talents to universities all over the country in order to promote the players.

How else can they convince parents to dish out 5k a year for something they can do in their own backyard?

This organization is awesome at showcasing our talents to universities all over the country in order to promote the players. Last year all graduating seniors played D1 ball while two went in first round of MLB draft. That fact, in my opinion, makes it a worthwhile time-consumer.
Hmmm, I grew up with and played high school ball with a 4th rd draft pick for the Atlanta Braves. I also played college baseball with a 2nd rd draft pick for the Cincinnati Reds. Seeing that we all had the same "showcasing and promoting of our talents", why were they drafted but I wasn't? Also, there was this kid that played high school a few miles away at a school that sucked at baseball. Once again, he got drafted from this terrible school that didn't know how to "promote its players", and I went to this school full of college and pro prospects but didn't get drafted.
I just can't figure it out.
Please tell me Chaz, was it the schools, or organizations, that got my buddies drafted? Or were they just great athletes and players that got drafted because of their abilities? Also, this organization that your kid plays for that just churns out the college/pro prospects, it sounds very successful, so congrats for that. But do you think that they are taking average players and making them pro caliber, or are they only taking the cream of the crop? Kids that are going to get drafted no matter what organization/high school they play for?

I'm nervous because I'm a parent; he's not because he's awesome at what he does.
Do not envy your HS coach when he finally gets there.....
You need to bring em over to La though and we have some teams that can hang a few L's on em.....just to take some of the stress away.

Damn.....they have you hook/line/sinker my man
Care to divulge how much this fantastic organization sets you back yearly?

can't help but sense the sarcasm here, choupique. i'm not a fanatical, a-hole parent who pushes his kids to do things they don't want to do, but one who encourages them both to do things that interest them and inspire them to do good things with the opportunities they're given.
as far as our baseball organization, i stated i knew the owner personally. he and our specific coach are not greedy capitalists; believe me, here in dallas there are several baseball organizations which are just that: baseball farms designed to generate revenue for the organization no matter how interested your boy is in baseball [elaborate hitting cages and fancy uniforms]. ours is not like this at all.
the organization is really about promoting the love of baseball and the benefits and opportunities that exist for those kids who love it and want to improve their skills.
[our boys pay a whopping $550/player per year, and some of us have been known to sponsor players who cannot afford the club fee (in case you were sincerely interested, lsusteve)]

Little bit, but my point is still the same. The best players/athletes are going to be found by the scouts. I noticed that in two separate threads on two different boards that you were overly complementary of your son's baseball organization. I can understand being proud of your son, but your posts led me to believe that you felt your son's baseball organization was going to earn him a college scholarship, or a pro contract just like the other guys that played for the Dallas Tigers.
I meant nothing towards your son. If the Tigers are a great team, I'm sure that your son is a great ball player. I just felt like you were making the comparison, "because player A went through the Tigers and he got drafted in the X round, then all kids that play for the same organization will eventually be drafted in round X." When in fact, those kids that got drafted were more than likely great ball players before they started playing for the Tigers. If they weren't, they would have been cut.

So you and the family travel around Texas and Oklahoma all summer for $550.00?
How many tournaments a summer do you guys play in?

Tommy is good people, if your son is playing with the organization I think he's.
