Easter is probably a good ratings day since most places are closed and people are at home.

I think they’re doing it to minimize cost

Correct, I have also seen that this was planned during the height of the PLandemic. And with this system the entire USFL league is living in a bubble. They live, practice and play in a single complex.

I feel like the only way an alternative league could work is for a billionaire to fund it at a loss for a few years.

Well it’s owned by Fox with buy-in from NBC and USA as well.

And Fox owns this league. So television ratings are what matter! Also shows you they have deep pockets behind them

With 41 games to go, there are going to be a lot played with nobody in the stands. TV ratings are what matters in the long run.

From the USFL website in the "News" section

The countries in which USFL games will be available, which is expected to grow, include all of North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and all major English-speaking markets featuring Canada, the UK and Ireland, South Africa, and Australia

They should get rid of reviews and just straight up fix games to get the league to take off. A touchdown there would have been nice for the league.

Damm. What an ending. If they had college rules instead of NFL, that would have been a TD. Of course the penalty would have negated it. But still another USFL game went down to the wire.

Calling the Panthers QBs garbage would be an insult to garbage.

Birmingham has enough free for use facilities for all of the teams to be in the area and a new stadium downtown along with Legion Field to host the games. Plus they won't charge the league an outrageous amount of money to use the facilities like other "tourist" cities will.

Also, where else but to have the games by the headquarters of the SEC.

Just glad the Panthers lost. Bobby Hebert played for the original Panthers and I can’t stand Bobby Hebert. I didn’t even realize Jeff Fisher was coaching so that makes the Panthers losing even better.

I'm looking forward for that USFL Today TV show so I can keep up with the league.

Next game is starting an hour later than scheduled due to the delay of the first game.
