People bring up how terrible the pac-10 is, yet LSU has had some of their tougher non-con games against bad pac-10 teams

LSU fans can't deny they struggled against ASU and OSU, but the struggles in both of those games can be put a lot on coaching.

OSU - Saban coached not to lose with a crappy SR QB and a FR with no experience...and the OSU team wasn't bad. Derek Anderson was one of the better PAC 10 QBs that year and their D-line was pretty stout.

ASU - Pelini was playing a weak zone with a bunch of players that were used to playing a physical man to man blitzing scheme. It was their first game with a new coaching staff and they had a lot to learn.

There should be no excuses for poor performances, but there certainly can be reasons behind it. Doesn't change the fact that they struggled though.

You left out having to go on the road in a short period of time after having dealt with Katrina...

Because I was only pointing out the coaching errors, everyone already knows about the Katrina factor

Agreed, but those errors were only increased with the mental state of the players IMO...

Sum it up this way...if USC wins tonight they will be talked about as being the favorites to make it to the national title game...I think everyone agrees with this

If USC had LSU, Auburn, Florida or Georgia's remaining schedule would the talking heads be spotting this off...I think probably not

the lameass excuse of LSU stuggling against Or. st and ASU is WEAK since USC struggled against both those teams the same year LSU struggled against them.

We played like shite against Or. St, I'll admit that, but ASU was because of something you left coasters will never be able to understand untill a massive earthquake occurs.

A brief bump in the road, I am quite sure we can look back through the SEC's record against the PAC 65 - 41 - 7 that we can find brief periods of the PAC with a winner record...

Yes and this is one of those periods, when the SEC is as strong as it has ever been, yet continue to lose to the "cupcake" PAC-10. No one yet has offerred a rational explanation.

Television has a lot to do with the USCs of the world being able to schedule whomever they want. Ask Virginia Tech.

Idaho is the epitome of the term cupcake by any definition. So the statement that "we never play cupcake" is patently false.

USC certainly deserves credit for OOC scheduling, but they do occasionally play cupcakes ala San Jose State.

USC's good, dunno why they should be criticized for the Pac 10 being mediocre. USC's talent is equal to the top SEC teams and elite football programs in the nation.

Here's a sign idea for when Gameday goes to LSU - Auburn next week...

Put a pic of the scoreboard that read Stanford 24 - USC 23 and underneath, it says USC CHOKES ON CUPCAKES.
