If if was a skif we would all go for a boat ride! I'm aware that was lame, but you can IF your way into insainity. If I hade $1 million I wouldn't have missed my mortgage payment!

The point is that LSU is okay! Just okay! USC looks to be devestating. The thing that USC has is moxy. They can beat you before they even play you.

Overrated is too strong a word to be used in this context.
They are a very very good football team. But, that doesn't mean they are a lock to win it all. After the Stanford, UCLA, OSU debacle in the last few years, they will be more careful this year. They will still have to play a more than decent team in the BCS title game even if they survive the "brutal" PAC 10 schedule. For now, my vote for #1 goes to them.

I'll let this topic die after this post.

What LSU fans have to realize is that you can't have your cake and eat it too. You cannot brag about the strength of the SEC and then in the same breath use it as an excuse for a 2 loss season.

And that is why the BCS was invented. It was put in place to serve as a scientific way to determine the difference between two teams with similar records in different conferences. The calculations obviously would put a 2 loss SEC champion in the title game over a two loss Pac-10 champion. It works for the SEC, except Auburn, but that won't happen again.

I agree grasshopper. We beat the shite out of Ohio State in January and Florida beat the shite out of Ohio State in January 2007. What's the big deal about beating the shite out of Ohio State?

The last 2 teams that beat Ohio State by more than 7 went on to win the national championship. And USC put up a larger margin of victory on them than either Florida or LSU.

I was at the game, watching with a friend from ohio. Met ray maualuga and Cushing after the game at Les Deux. I tell you it's impossible to fathom how somebody that big can be so fast! Its downright scary.
I love my Tigers, but we have nobody even close to those guys in our defense. I like our DL but their defense as a whole is nasty.

USC is a great team. Period. They aren't good, they're great. Why do rantards disagree?

At home without their best offensive player. Take that into account and I don't see much difference in the beat down of tOSU.

I hate USC, but Ill give them their due. They are playing great football right now. They look good in most aspects of the game and havent shown a weakness. Ill say they look like the #1 team RIGHT NOW. LSU is playing great football but we do have some weaknesses. I agree the media kisses their arse but they are playing good football. I would put USC, OK, Mizz at the top FOR NOW, but that will change. I wouldnt put them in the championship game just yet though. They have a long season just like everyone else. Winning the two games they won just isnt enough for me to put them in the championship game. Thats why the championship game isnt played after week 2. Just let the season play out.

I've a problem with using "Great" after 2 games. Any team that has 2 losses in the last 11 games of which one is to freaking Stanford cannot be anointed great.
Very good, yes.
Great? I'll wait at least till the end of the season.

They have the depth to be considered great. People hold a grudge because of '03 and it may not be the problem with you but most here do.

Look at the top 10 and list a team that could beat USC tomorrow.

The answer is none.

It's a shame they won't be challenged the rest of the season. They can just waltz into the NCG.

They really don't have any HUGE tests, that's part of the problem.

Oregon will be the biggest test for them.

As for who should be #1, right now, after 3 weeks, there's no question that it should be USC. I agree that beating the shite out of OSU (without Wells) isn't a huge deal these days, but they took care of business. If we all have goose eggs in the loss column in November, then we may have a gripe.

I Still think Mizzou > Oklahomo.

They are head and shoulders better than ANY team to this point. I hate to say it, but I don't see them losing one this year. all of their "tough" games are at home. Oregon State will not beat them. Computer rankings are meaningless when it comes to USC (see 2003). Basically, the question is who will SC be playing in Miami. Hopefully LSU.

FAIL

On a neutral field, tomorrow, I would take Florida over USC. It would not surprise me if LSU, Mizzou, Oklahoma or Georgia beat them, but I wouldn't put money on it.

It's the same shite every year with the speculation. Yes, USC is good. Yes, they deserve the #1 ranking based on performance thus far. But to say that no other team in the top 10 COULD beat them is nuckingfuts. They were saying that shite about OU in 2003, but someone forgot to tell K State.

That was LAST year. You can't compare that team with this one. It's a different is suppose to be the O-line and Sanchez's inexperience. They have dominated. They are GREAT ... so far.

EVERYBODY is over-rated at this point.

USC has handled their business with a certain level of urgency and efficiency and there are only a handful of teams that can say that.
