When Jermaine Jones joins the team we'll have him and Michael at center mid and most likely Clint and Donovan out wide, with Davies and Jozy up top. Jose Torres and Freddy Adu could be really good subs and Benny when you need to create in the midfield a little more.

This.

Adu did not impress me in the game last night, so any talk of starting him up top with Jozy is craziness IMO. Davies is looking better and better and has tremendous pace.

I'm still not sold on Spector as left back...perhaps Beasley should get another try.

FWIW, I'm not necessarily stating that Ching is our single best goal scoring option or whatever.

Just that right now, if he's available he'll start.

And I think, that Ching and Jozy to start, and then having Dempsey and Davies gives a defense two entirely different things to deal with, which is more beneficial over a full 90.

If you start Davies and Altidore up top, you have nothing on the bench that you can make a change to that can effect the game. It's pretty clear, at least at this point, that Adu isn't an option.

Ching, Cooper, Casey are all pretty similar, and would probably be a relief for a tired defense.

Quaranta and Rogers are out and out wingers.

I'd love to see Beasley get back in form, and be able to throw he and Davies (and Donovan) at a tired defense with Feilhaber and Dempsey linking passes to them.

Having another guy like Ching in the first half of a game gives another target on a set piece, and is someone that can draw defenders away from the Bocanegra, Gooch, Bradley and Dempseys on set pieces.

Use your size/strength advantage to get a 1 goal lead, come with speed late, defend, and kill the game with a counter attack when your opponent is pushing up for the equalizer.

Don't have any predictions, but I will be watching the game from behind the US team's bench after tailgating outside RFK. My soccer team got tickets. Living in DC has some benefits.
