The refs in the Turkish League get paid around $200 a game. I'm sure that it's fairly similar in most leagues outside of the EPL, La Liga, etc. However, this ref allowed way too much contact, especially the shirt pulls. It was frustrating to watch.
I caught the game from the 55th minute on, so I don't know what happened in the first half. I thought Beckerman did a nice job. Quaranta's goal was great, but I didn't see much else out of him.
Cherundolo is obviously a very good player, and he had a nice assist on the Ching header. Davies was very good today. He made some great passes, and he only dribbled into bad positions when there wasn't another feasible alternative. Feilhaber is such a great player. He's a great passer, and I bet the other guys love playing with him. He deserves a move to a decent side more than anyone on the team, and I hope he isn't stuck playing in the Danish Super Liga next year. I think he could be our first sub off the bench in the World Cup.
Cooper was decent in the 10 minutes he played tonight. I hope he gets the start against Haiti.
After Davies' recent improvement, I hope that Ching is not a lock to get back in the starting line-up for WC qualifiers. I will be furious if he starts against Mexico after all the good work we have seen from other players.

At times Beckerman looks great as a holding midfielder, other times he looks like a retard with terrible slow passes.

I think his style of play is fine for CONCACAF, but he would get eaten alive against a team like Brazil or Italy. That's why he will never get farther than the World Cup, and Bradley will use his son, Jermaine Jones, Benny, and Edu against better competition.

i would imagine that they receive a base salary in addition to their per game salary, but at that level, you could always have the opportunity to pull double duty as a fifa referee

it was pretty awful. i stopped watching midway through the second half and just kept the sound up.

I wont claim to be as knowledgeable about soccer as some on here, but I thought Rogers looked pretty skilled tonight. He was cruising past defenders down the left hand side and setting up opportunities that weren't finished.

Rogers has had a great tourney so far. He flopped all over the place tonight, but so did the Hondurans. I prefer Holden to Rogers and Quaranta, but Bob gave the hometown kid a shot tonight, (and he scored).
Also Freddy Adu has made Bob look like a genius.

I didn't think that Freddy was bad in either game (or at least what I saw of them). I didn't see the first 50 minutes today though.
Rogers was better against Grenada, and I think he can be in the US rotation after 2010.

I haven't seen either game so i really can't say anything. But I see Adu has been sucking? Idk if taking up for him is warranted or not, but he hasn't played in forever. I'd like to give him a little break and say it's just the rust.
Also, I'm terribly afraid Ching is back at starting opposite Jozy against Mexico...and idk what I'm doing to do. Are Jozy and Ching not essentially the same player, just Jozy is better? If Brian Ching is starting next World Cup we will not make it out of group stage...mark it down.

I don't think Adu looked terrible but he really just looks like he lacks that great midfield instinct
I really would have to think this is due to a lack of playing time...I definitely think he'll be fun to watch in the run up to the '14 WC after he's hopefully gotten many more club minutes

I guess people have different expectations of Adu. He has done pretty well in my eyes, especially for a kid who just turned 20 and has barely played in 2 years. I think he has become a better all-around player since he was 17 or 18, when he just wanted to beat guys 1-on-1, but then really didn't know what to do.
I agree with 3520 that he isn't a complete player yet, but I think he is good enough to make the 23-man roster and get some minutes as a reserve in the World Cup, if the situation calls for it.
