I disagree.
He is pretty good when he plays the holding midfielder. I don't think he should play anything other than that, as he played the AM for Heerenveen. I admit that he is very undisciplined, though his card tonight was absolute bullshite.
But is there any other American midfielder starting for a European club team in a decent league? Edu seemed to have a strong hold on a CM spot towards the end of the season with Rangers, and I think a combination of Edu and Bradley in the center would be pretty good, especially compared to anyone else we have in the central midfield.
But Michael has been starting in Europe since he was 19, he isn't as bad as you are making him out to be in my opinion.

thats not exactly world class competition we are squaring off against. i think part of the reason we play so poorly against some of these teams is that we have no idea what world class competition is
yeah, lets just say frick it, go swing our dicks around in europe, try to beat them, and not even worry at all about THE TEAMS WE HAVE TO BEAT TO MAKE THE CUP. makes great sense

WHAT THE frick IS THE POINT OF GOING TO THE WORLD CUP IF YOU CANT BEAT THE TEAMS YOU HAVE TO PLAY?
i know how thrilled i am when we win CONCACAF every 4 years! its really an epic accomplishment!

We beat Sweden with our "B" team 3-2 in January. We beat them also the January before, and beat Poland 3-0 in March of 08.

We tied Argentina a summer ago I believe. We just look like shite on the road. I blame the coach for not preparing better. IT IS INEXCUSABLE FOR A TEAM TO HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO HANDLE A SHITTY PITCH AND NOT REACT WELL TO CROWD NOISE.

its very simple. the right guys arent on the field. quit being a fricking chicken little.
american soccer has come so far in 20 years its mindboggling. just calm the frick down
we outplayed italy 3 years ago down a man the entire second half
we should have been in the semis against south korea in 02, and probably the fricking finals, but we couldnt finish bunnies at the net against germany
the whole notion of us being a terrible soccer country is just false

Didn't we lose to Germany in 0-1 but were a count hair away from the tieing goal? and had all kinda pressure on them at the end.

06 were only team to play Italy to a tie and had 1 goal for sure (maybe 2) taken back....we are playing teams tough in WC.

we're on our 3rd generation pretty much. we're not that young now
and CONCACAF isn't filled with world beaters. 1 good team and some solid teams.
