Mexico dominated after the first USA goal. This game shouldn't have been as close as it was.

Until America develops its own style and drops all the “pitch” and “kit” bullshite…and starts teaching 1v1 skill at the youth and High School levels…we will NEVER win at Soccer. That simple. USA has no fricking culture or style,,,this was embarrassing to watch. Totally outmatched on and off the field on our own turf. Our entire culture is moral victories.

And starts knocking MF's out.

USA has the best athletes 9/10. We are bigger, stronger and faster 9/10. We aren't going to win on cohesion or technical prowess like smaller nations with a defined youth development league focused on International Play. Not saying we can't be technical and we can't play pretty soccer, but you can't establish a coherent style in a 3 week training camp unless you have a standard language to build off on. We don't have that. We will never have that. We're too big. Cali kids train in a completely different system than kids in Atlanta.

So we our internatioal style needs to lean into our strengths. We need to bully people. Strong tackles, counters, win challenges and quick build ups from fast wingers. We need shooters. People that will just blast one from 40 yards out (freedom units). Basically, we need to out Mexico Mexico.

Of course, it’s the 4th most popular sport in America and our best athletes don’t play soccer. It is what is.

This is such a retarded argument. Different sports require different body types and skill sets. And to say that our current National Team aren't top tier athletes is even more retarded considering they all play at top tier club teams around the world. So they are the best of the best of the best.

Don't ever say that again, or you could just move to Mexico.

This is a dumb logic. Very very very few countries have defined levels of play through their entire programs. Like maybe, maybe Germany.

A lot of it comes down to coaching, and what style the current coach prefers.

The main difference between the US and the top 10-20 programs (and the U.S. has some rare years been top 20) is that they have 30-40 players often times to choose from and the U.S. is making the best of maybe 12-15. So if those 12-15 don’t all gel and fit the style of play together and that the coach will work with then we simply aren’t good.

The U.S. got hammered by Mexico because many of our starters weren’t available and the 2nds weren’t good. I have no clue who Mexico brought.

FWIW, you take the best players off any team and the play will obviously suffer. The U.S. just compared to the top 20 or so programs has little depth.

Men's Soccer in US needs to be dissolved. It has sucked since the beginning of time and will never get any better. Shut it down.

It's always funny to see people who aren't fans get so bent out of shape for a team not living up to their expectations.
