I was rooting for Gauff but her tennis has been hit or miss most of this year, credit to her that she won ugly at the French Open, but not surprised she lost today.
I do not like Osaka, but when she is in form hitting that flat ball on hard courts, she is damn tough to beat.

Say what you want about Osaka, but I think it’s a really cool story to se her back in this form.
Very fascinating how we first see her as a painfully shy kid reach stardom out of nowhere by beating Serena. She essentially melted in that spotlight, but reset and is back to playing like the best player in the world

I’m sorry if this is a stupid question, but in doubles, do you have to return the serve in the normal court, or is it good if you return into the doubles alley? Just wondering since the serve box doesn’t change from singles. Sorry if this is dumb.
