If Urban Meyer reported it, I'd assume the university investigated it. If this is so, then they obviously didn't find anything worthy of firing him. So then why exactly did he get fired last week?
I feel like there's just something, or things I don't know about this story that I'm missing.

Absolutely agree.
What I am most surprised by, is why Urban kept him on staff. I'm not even remotely saying to fire him, I'm saying get him the hell away. Recommend him for some other jobs at other schools. Give him the chance to fix his marriage elsewhere.
Keeping him on his staff for that long, that's what makes me think there's more to it.
