I hate Urban as much as the next guy but this is crazy. I’m sitting here thinking about what I would do if I thought someone in my office was beating his wife? What if he denied it? How involved should I get morally and ethically? Should I fire him on suspicion? Report him to police?? Should I be fired if I don’t intervene?

We’re not on the slippery slope, we’re sliding straight down.

So what does this mean? Is this just mundane procedural shite while they get their ducks in a row to fight a PR battle to save meyer his job? Or is this a legit precursor to a firing/forced resigning?

I don't think it should be a problem for head coaches to hire assists with domestic pasts. Lord knows fans give recruits more leeway than they should.

I also don't think it should be a problem for coaches to lie to the media. Every coach does this every time they talk into the mic.

Urban didn't beat the chick or pay off the cops. This is just dumb.

Lucky for Urban, Ohio State had a very explicit policy he was supposed to follow...

This was the policy in effect during the 2015 allegations - "Sexual Misconduct, Sexual Harassment, and Relationship Violence"

I get what you’re saying, but your place of work almost certainly isn’t the same, and it would be an employee not just any person if you’re trying to make it apples to apples

From his standpoint it’s just a dumb hill to die on over a WR coach. Should have just axed him and moved on

This let's me know they won't fire him. tOSU is using this to protect him. They are just trying to come up with a story that protects Urban. Shelley will fall on the sword and say she never told him

I mean, how many times do coaches come back from paid administrative leave?

You'd think it wouldn't take much to get your ducks in a row if Meyer followed the policy. Methinks there is no evidence of a report from him in 2015, so now the question becomes whether or not his wife told him. Any reasonable person would think she did, but who knows?

Meyer wins national championships. He won't be out of coaching long. Sure domestic violence is terrible but this isn't close to child molestation or rape scandals.

Meyer's resume:

-harbored/protected an abuser
-recruited and coached a murderer
-Tim Tebow

We're about to find out just how much weight Timmy can pull.
