Can we hurry up and get to one 48 team conference with an 8 team SEC division?

still don't get what benefit oregon and washington would bring to the B1G as opposed to expanding into the massive florida TV market...maybe that's what B1G officials are now realizing

Wouldn't mind Oregon and Washington fumbling the bag and ending up in the new Mountain West.

Those states deserve it

The Bleacher Report article I found says that the PAC 12 is expected to meet today to sign a Grant Of Rights.

I don’t see how this ends well one way or another given the shite sandwich deal offered by Apple.

I'd take lesser dollars to go to the BIG for long term stability. This is a serious gamble if you are Oregon or Washington.

Multiples sources tell @DanWetzel and me that the tides are turning: The Pac-12 meeting this morning to sign a Grant of Rights, which @YahooSports reported last night, remains on schedule & expectation is all presidents will show.

The Pac-12’s survival is contingent on keeping intact at least 8 of the current 9 members.

A loss of 2 more schools - either Arizona/ASU to Big 12 OR Oregon/Washington to Big Ten - is seen as a likely recipe for collapse. As P12 leaders enter their meeting, neither has happened.

An important part of this: the reluctance from Pac-12 schools - and the blame that may follow - to kill a 108-yr-old conference, sources tell @YahooSports.

Another factor: the pushback from the Big Ten's powerhouse programs in further expansion, something they have been against.

The conference isn’t 100 years old… it effectively dissolved in the 50s to be replaced by a different entity after three Cali schools and Washington got caught up in a bunch of violations.

Arizona may bolt for the B12? The B10 is scouting UO and UW to join UCLA and USC? SDSU may bolt the MWC? FSU openly talking about leaving the ACC? Yet, we still entertain coaches, ADs and legislators complain about the transfer portal ruining college sports? Seriously?

At last minute, Pac-12 may stay together & sign Grant of Rights. After Monday’s media rights offer, P12 held multiple zoom meetings this week. Arizona’s Bobby Robbins appeared fully committed to Pac-12 so much that one participant said: “If Arizona leaves, he should win an Oscar"

Show some proper respect.

This whole thing is a trainwreck. Everybody seems to be acting out of panic.

I’ll laugh my arse off if the school presidents go full NWO and whip off their button-downs to reveal Big 12 and Big 10 shirts at that meeting.

Considering how the conference president completely dropped the ball by getting a media offer from Apple for a shite amount with virtually no time to vet it before it had to be accepted, that IS a time to panic.

And a deal is uncertain. There’s a political thicket with the potential additions because the moves don’t offer the current Big Ten schools any additional money. USC doesn’t have a vote, but they’ve been vocal in the past about not wanting other West Coast Big Ten teams.

@PeteThamel

Oregon and Washington would also have to come to terms with not getting a full share, which isn’t a slam dunk for them. There's potential, but significant road blocks remain.

SC's possibly trying to screw any other PAC 12 members from going to the BIG. UCLA should keep their guard up.
