I can imagine it would be a penalty. But I didn't know this to be 100% fact.

He wasn't like a fan running on the field, as I don't think any team would be penalized for a fan disrupting the game. The bigger question is what would happen if that was a coach and not a player who ran on to celebrate. Would that be a penalty?

Or better yet, what would happen if it was a player who wasn't on the field at the time for example, if the kicker, or even the 3rd string QB/ clipboard holder ran unto the field to celebrate.

Is this thread just some LSU UF DBU limp dick drama? Who cares if the dude ran on the field, and whoever said he's just a fan? Don't be a moron. NFL is so dumb, dude wants to celebrate with his team, wgaf?

Publicly support career criminals, thumbs up. Celebrate with your teammates, flag.

Florida seems to produce alot of those and the jacksonville jaguars out here keep drafting them.

Trevon Bryant, CJ Henderson, Derrick Harvey, Reggie Nelson, Donte Fowler only good one was Fred Taylor.

Dumb. But some leniency might be warranted - not to VH of course - because the act itself was such a STUPID and inconceivable violation of the Rules that for someone to actually have thought a player who is not on the Active Roster for the Super Bowl - and not even in Uniform - would sprint on to and across the field to celebrate a big play during the game would truly be stretching the limits of human imagination.
But by all means - check in if you saw this coming!

Truly inconsequential drivel.

Great kid who comes from a great family.
True about the family as far as I know. I'll certainly take your word for it.

Made a mistake on a BIG stage and will be remembered for that mistake.
He certainly did and he certainly will. A contrived mistake to draw attention to himself at the expense of his teammates. And it worked because during the Super Bowl everybody was talking about him. And he'll damn sure be remembered - and laughed at for it - as the dumbass who screwed his teammates to be in the spotlight.
Whoa! Wait a minute! The transgression was no porn film but maybe he'll end up being the equivalent of Kim on the new show "Keeping Up With The Hargreaves"!
quote:

Let’s not act like everyone on this board hasn’t done things worse than what he did
Trying to get readers to compare culpability for their own actions and those of the current topic absolutely reeks of deflection. Blatant distraction using irrelevant apologist bullshite. Our personal transgressions have nothing to do with Vernon Hargreaves.
quote:

People will blow it out of proportion though
In the NFL world his actions will be referenced as a stupidly selfish act committed at the expense of his team in the Super Bowl. Difficult to blow that out of proportion.
As far as mainstream America goes it's very safe to say he will be fodder for late night and touring comedians for the rest of his life - particularly around Super Bowl time.

I've had enough. I rest my case.

He looked "can't miss" in high school and had some very strong years at Florida.

WTF happened to him in the pros? I thought he'd be a solid CB for years.

Always had the tools. Like most, it's gotta be between the ears.
Huh. He certainly showed a propensity for one kind of stupidity on Sunday anyway.

That dude just says shite for attention.

EDIT: It wouldn't be fair if I didn't make one point crystal clear about that dude, though - he really doesn't know shite about Sports so most of us take it easy on him.

Ok so why was he on the sidelines? He’s affiliated with the team somehow. Def very different than a fan.
