Been a while since I saw Rafa give up on a point like that.

Terrible sign for this match.

Novak coming back after elbow surgery and winning last 3 majors is stunning. I mean this is Djoke hitting the apex of his prime. He is unbeatable.

Novak's level right now in this match is insane, the guy looks so dominant right now.

Right its crazy to think this time last year people were saying Djokovic's career might be over and now today we are seeing a performance like this.

The craziest thing about how the GOAT argument has evolved is could it actually be a case where at one time we’ve seen the GOAT on each surface? Fed on grass, Rafa on clay, and Djoker on hard.

I don’t know how the overall argument will ever be decided, but Peak Djoker on hard court cannot be beaten.

Nadal falling apart, missing a bunch, but Novak is hitting some incredibly difficult monster shots.

I give Sampras in his prime a slight edge over Feds best on grass.

So Idk what steam everyone is watching, I’m on the BEIN stream, but the announcer just made a great point.

Rafa’s new serve has really helped him dictate points against the field during this slam. You can see it in all of the statistics. It’s clearly allowed him to be more aggressive and dictate points, shortening exchanges.

However, this new serve really pulls him in much more than his old serve, and I think he’s not handling the depth of Novak’s returns well. He’s felt constantly rushed to backpedal back to take Djoker’s returns throughout this match because of that, and it’s killing his ability to hold serve.

It’s closer than folks think. Would’ve been an incredible match.

Peak Novak is like the child of Rafa and Roger. He's just on a whole different planet when he's clicking. If he stays healthy getting to 20 majors isn't so far-fetched now. Rafa will do his usual win every clay tournament then get hurt come grass season.

With Murray’s return game just to make things even more impossible.

There is zero doubt that Peak Novak is the GOAT. We might end up arguing differently because resumes and consistency is important for sure, but in the hypothetical “who at their peak” argument, there’s simply zero doubt.

The Sampras big serve and volley in his prime was just impossible because nobody could even get into a rally with the man. During Sampras era you had real grass specialist and more competition across the board with Sampras winning 7 out of 8 titles. 7-0 in finals.

Nadal had a chance to break Novak just there, but a long rally went in Novak's favor. It would have potentially tipped the tide for this set at least. Might have prolonged this match for who knows how much longer.

Federer has a higher winning percentage on grass, more titles on grass, and more Wimbledon titles than Sampras has. I don't know what case can be made for Sampras being a better grass player than Federer.
