This match has been super weird.

The first set and a half, yea it was legit Novak God mode. I mean I he was just disgusting.

However, the last set and a half has been a lot more of Rafa just playing like shite and losing it mentally. Usually you see Rafa as able to weather and get back into a match, but the opposite has happened here.

It’s unfortunate, because Djoker’s level of play has really dropped this set.

Federer has a higher winning percentage on grass, more titles on grass, and more Wimbledon titles than Sampras has. I don't know what case can be made for Sampras being a better grass player than Federer.

How about 50 aces coming at you from possibly one of the greatest volley players of all time? Maybe you should listen to some of the players that got a chance to play both of them in their prime like Agassi.

I’m leaning towards your side, but I don’t think I’d agree that Agassi played Fed in his prime.

The matchup between the two would be epic.

so pride should get credit for calling for the djoker routine of Nadal

but as mentioned earlier, novak dismantled Nadal one strength at a time.

Bravo Novak, I hope this continues and you absolutely demolish fed's record of 20 slams.

It was unreal.
Novak made it look easy to beat Rafa handily.

ETA - Nobody would've guessed that this match would be completed in just over two hours.

I’ll leave this here. If someone wants to argue with Agassi’s knowledge of tennis and experience playing both Fed and Sampras then go right on ahead.

I didnt get to see the match since I'm traveling so I cant wait to watch when I get back. Djoko fan here and I think hes going to pass Fed. Fed got to win a bunch of titles when tennis was down. Nadal and Djoko have been beating superior talent by far over what Fed did. He got young Djoko and Nadal for a minute but not long. And Sampras was a beast on grass, would've been awesome to see a peak Sampras/Fed match at Wimbledon.

Well, all of Agassi's matchups against Federer were on outdoor hard court while he lost to Sampras a bunch of times on grass so he might be a tad bias in his assessment. Federer had much more dominant runs dropping fewer games and sets when he won his Wimbledon titles compared to Sampras. The guy's the best ever on grass.

It's going to be difficult. He's going to have to win Six GS titles after turning 32. Rosewall won four titles after turning 32, Federer has won three, and nobody else has won more than one. Djokovic will have to do unprecedented stuff for him to reach 20 slams.

Fed and Nadal are dropping off and Murray may be done. The next tier looks promising but I see no reason Djoko can't win Wimbledon and US again this year to put him at 17. 3-4 more is very doable if he stays healthy. The big IF.

It’s gonna be fun to watch Novak over the next few years. I feel like the Wimbledon field is so weak he can win probably 3 more of those alone? Roger will be lucky to win another GS and Nadal probably only has real chances at the French. I think Novak has at least even odds catching Fed.

Yeah I’ve taken a look at men’s tennis forums and reddit, and they seem like a huge mess of fanboys having nonstop GOAT arguments. I can’t take it.

Here you just have to resist the urge to want to fight MidnightVibe about once a week

Talk Tennis is so annoying with the GOAT stuff. I usually just skim the posts for some good tidbits of info and GIFs to bring here.

Other than a routine final, it was a fun couple of weeks. I can't believe Novak can complete another Nole slam at RG. Time for #nextgen to win one.

The last 63 Grand Slams have broken down as follows:

Federer 20
Nadal 17
Djokovic 15
Murray 3
Wawrinka 3
Safin 2
Cilic
Del Potro
Gaudio

That is really quite insane.

Y’all should go back to the wimby thread last year

Once djok beat Nadal, I said it’s over. Feds record is going down.

The only thing that can stop Djok is his own mind. Once he got back over the hump in that Nadal wimby match I knew we were in for some shite

Nadal needs to win this match, because Novaks level of play is back but he is struggling on big points

That wont last long. This maybe his last chance at a major

2/10 break points for novak is an anomaly

This is my first quote from their wimby semi final match. It was met by general disgust. Since then, Djok has rubbed his taint over the last 3 grand slams

I hate to say it, but the French will be his as well
