Braves Red Sox tied 3-3 bases loaded 3-2 count Kevin Plawecki is rung up on this pitch to end the inning. Tosses his helmet and is immediately thrown out of the game.

It's only a matter of time before they're replaced with robots. It can't happen quick enough.

Except the “robots” aren’t perfect either. Has the ump been giving that call all game? If he has then there’s no issue

When they get replaced with robots can we get rid of the annoying tradition where they stare down the runner to make sure they touch home plate after a home run

But they are still more accurate than umps. And don't have quick triggers and needlessly throwing someone out over a bad call.

Yeah I can't wait until a player or manager go and argue with the robot and they don't get thrown out. Manager will finally get tired of yelling at the robot and just go back to the dugout.

If a robot makes a bad call while all of the other robots meet together and get it straightened out. Home plate robot appeal down to the 1B robot for a check swing.

Boy, I can't wait until robots take over and people lose their jobs.

I’m for having the bot in the ump’s ear

What I’m even more for is severely restricting their ability to eject players and coaches. I’m talking only physical violence.

Bad calls are what they are, whatever. The problem is all of these frickers have become so smug its created unnecessary tension. If the umps didn't act like people bought tickets to watch them players and managers wouldn't freak out over these calls like this.

All you have to do is look at that doffus'face when Cora comes out to know he thinks the game is about him.

No one is losing their job. Robots aren't taking over the game. Just balls and strikes.

Yes. He's fine with umps sucking at their job. As long as they consistently suck at their job.

Yeah, it is super annoying to make sure that each base is touched so that the runners can legally advance.

I think they tried the honor system previously but that failed and even when all were touched the defense would argue that one bag was missed.

That is when they asked the umpires to pay closer attention. Fire the observers! Install bases that light up pretty colors when touched and fire up the smoke machines like on american gladiators.

Baseball umpires have always been the worst sports officials only thing different now is that the technology has reached a point to prove it.

So will robots swing the bats and pitch strikes also? Just wondering since the failure rates are much higher during the game than that of the missed calls from the human observers.

Alexa, which pitch should I throw next?

I harp on this because after the home run is hit, the lap rounding the bases is purely for show yet the umpires will break up player huddles to make sure they touch home plate even though it has absolutely zero bearing on the outcome.

The ball is out of play, the run is recorded, touching home plate really shouldn't matter.

Like I already said. They aren't going to take over the game. Just balls and strikes.
