ULL fans: WTF is your problem with north Louisiana?

checking out your message board, most seem to be under the impression that north Louisiana is nothing more than a bunch of rednecks. I never realized Lafayette was such an upscale place to live

ULLalalalala fans are the worst.

Lafayette people seem to think they are better than the rest of LA.
They have great food and good statistics, but It's nothing for them to get cocky about.

I spent 22 years living in North Louisiana before I lived anywhere else. I was blind to it until I lived elsewhere. Now that I've come back, I'd call that a pretty accurate description.

So who do you post as on the ULL board?
Posted on 9/30/15 at 2:36 pm to hsfolk
The culture really changes once you get South of Alexandria. Like 2 different states.

Lafayette is a nice town, but the people are the worst and the so called "university" there is basically a community college.

Is this a response to the Leonard Fournette thread on the La Tech board?

Very true. North Louisiana is more like Miss/Ark with the Shreveport region being Texas.
I dont hate North La FWIW.

I'm not even from here, but I have found the opposite to be true and think they are some of the nicest people anywhere. Maybe they didn't like you for a reason.

Just curious if you were engaging in the banter.

I think you nailed it. When people think of Louisiana, they envision everything below Alexandria. Swamps, food, Mardi Gras, LSU, Saints, etc...

South La is definitely its own thing apart from the south. I see some similarities to South eastern Texas in ways, but that's about it. New Orleans is also its own world, but not really similar to anything else outside of Charleston SC in a few small ways.
North La has a traditional southern style to it very similar to Mississippi/Arkansas/Alabama. I'm not saying that's a bad thing at all, just that it really is way different than the southern part of the state. Plenty of great people in North La, and a lot that prefer the style of it compared to South La.
