She’s been in judo since she was 5 or 6, Ronda actually beat her in competition but that was when Ronda was 18/19 and Kayla was 15

Dana presser notes:
On Merab:
-could already be considered the best bantamweight of all time
-mentioned an Umar rematch as the biggest fight for his legacy, but wont happen before Sandhagen
-merab mentioned he wants to defend 4 times this year, Dana says he has no problem with that
On Bones:
-laughed off mention of his tweets on giving up the belt and said if he wants to retire thats fine, blew off the notion of him fighting Ngannou, not interested in re-signing Ngannou
-said thats Aspinall's fight, not entertaining any other opponents unless bones flat our retires
-believes the fight will happen
Other Notes:
-working on islam-JDM
-deep into tv deal discussions, should have answers by september
-will be head promoter for crawford-canelo
-didnt say for sure, but sounded like he wants to start working on a Weilli vs Schevchenko super fight
-no PPV for september, the area they were going to do Noche in in mexico isnt ready and screwed up timing

I want O’Malley to win because I bet on him and he makes the division entertaining.
The public has bought the O’Malley hype… how does he ‘make the division entertaining’? Because he dyes his corn rows pink??
Dude is a fraud and has been ever since the hype train got rolling for him

Assuming pantoja wins I’d like to see him move up and face merab. Both guys have pretty much cleaned out their division..

I just started again this past week
I quit for about five months after my neck wasn’t healing and getting frustrated with where I was training.
After getting a nerve conduction test done, I have a pinched ulnar nerve on both arms along with my cervical neck discs showing degeneration (now I gotta get an mri)
I won’t be competing until next year but glad I’m just starting to return to the mat

I thought they had moved the Noche card to San Antonio?

Almost anyone will suck against a 2 time Olympic gold medalist in judo who trains with the best team in the world

His mythical KO power?
Who has he KO’d that was worth a frick? His notable knockouts are against a bunch of bums (paiva, wineland, almeida, and moutinho

Who at 135 has a long list of knockouts of top guys? Maybe garbrandt but most of his KO were lower level guys.

You didn’t tell me anything. I said Kayla better finish it early. I thought the fight was going well for pena style up until the sub. She was making Kayla work for it and did a good job of staying out of trouble. I am a fan of Julie and knew her best shot at winning was to get beat up for 2-3 rounds and hope Kayla gasses out.

Thanks
I needed a break since I was training hard while injured, in addition I was getting four privates a month. I was investing as much as 600 a month and when I realized other people were getting promoted and not putting the effort I was; I needed to reset. I wasn’t getting promoted it really pissed me off. Nor did the head professor ever told me what I should work on.
I canceled and didn’t hear any feedback from him. Here I am as a purple belt and the years I been there and you aren’t even interested in why I needed to cancel was bs
My gas tank is garbage but I’ll be working on that soon.

Gotcha. That makes sense. I thought she was crouched over her for some reason, but you’re right about her knees being on the mat.

Sounds like your coach needs to work on his people skills for sure. As for the belt thing, I do think the water gets super muddy with all the subjectivity of belts in general. Only thing that helped me continue to work hard and not get bitter was to refocus on skill acquisition and development instead of a belt. All that matters in the end is the skills you have. Im in a season of time where I (blue belt) was tapping black and brown belts every now and then and was giving purples hell pretty much every roll and they still kept me at blue. I did a tournament recently and had a lot of success so for me, the feeling of accomplishment that my Jiu Jitsu is getting better has carried me through the waiting period.
