Yeah I used to do saints season tickets but got to where I wnjoy the ufc more. Makes for a fun weekend and I have been able to hit some cool spots that I probably wouldn’t spend a real vacation on like Miami, SLC, Mexico City, Jersey/New York. I also enjoy Vegas but the cards have been really weak there as of late outside of 300 which I wasn’t able to go to.

I am excited about the upcoming Miami card. Great card full of the next batch of stars. I also want to do an England card and a Brazil card one day.

imagine calling someone that sat in the arena for ank vs jan and ank vs poatan a casual. you sit thru 50 minutes of that shite and tell me about a strategic technical battle. gtfooh.

This means absolutely nothing lol

You’ve already outted yourself as a typical mma fan that just wants bloody brawls. You being in attendance at soooo many fights doesn’t mean anything lol

It was an extremely boring fight. Yet Tacky acts like it'll be a fight of the year contender due to Ank's "strategy."

Lol. It was a great fight for anyone that understands what they are watching and likes strategy and game planning.

Again, I’m sorry that you’re in the camp with several others here and just don’t understand.

It’s a very solid card top to bottom. But the main event is not a compelling high profile fight. Yes Volk is in it but he’s coming off 2 losses and most people think Ilia is the best 145 in the world.

315 is kind of meh.

There were like 4 mega fights expected for this year. Ank vs Pereira was one of them. The other 3 are Khamzat vs DDP, Ilia vs Islam, and Jones Aspinall. Merab vs Pantoja is gaining traction but it’s not on the same level.

I agree. I don’t think he should be getting a title shot, should have been lopes and evloev. It’s still an intriguing fight and I hope lopes wins to get some new blood going. That division has a lot of good fighters but has been kind of held back by the vets.maybe pitbull will add some life to the division with a win over Rodriguez

And pantoja really needs to move up. Talk about someone that has lapped the division.

I disagree about Volk. IMO you give him another shot at the title before moving on because he's a legend in the division and a star that's going to sell the card. The dude always brings it in the cage too...I'm super excited about the fight but more worried about Lopes living up to the hype than Volk holding up the division with another title shot.

Lopes has been impressive against some really good BW's and won or nearly won them all. At no point has he been outclassed. If he loses this it says more about who Volk still is.

I don't disagree. My main point is that we pretty much know what we are getting with Volk unless he fell off a cliff this past year. Lopes is in a big spot and has a lot to prove.

Dan Ige leaving a BBQ during the prelims and nearly winning against Lopes a few hours later has me wondering about Lopes.

It might be win or retire time for Volkanovski. Don't want to keep feeling bad for him after losses.

with the circumstances of that fight I dont think you can hold it against him. that was alot of shite to put up within the 24 hours before the fight.

I don't disagree but he hasn't really fought anyone worth a shite. His last loss was to Evloev and I don't think I'd ever expect him to beat Volk, Holloway, or Topuria in their prime.

His last 2 wins vs 34 y/o Ortega and #15 Dan Ige don't really move the needle on measuring his success or capabilities.

Even this fight is more about "what Volk we get" and less about Lopez abilities.

I do hope he gets his chance at the belt and its a decisive enough win to start a discussion about his abilities and not just about Volk taking a step back.

I'm a fan of Lopez but he really is somewhat of an unproven contender in the weakest weight class at the moment. (I'm excluding flyweight from that conversation).

not really trying to argue but just pointing out that he made his ufc debut on 5 days notice in the evloev fight. and he did very well in that fight.

No argument here. I really like Lopez and watching him fight. He is both a good dude and exciting fighter. I just get more of a "this guy has a chance" feeling > "this guy will be a dominant future champion" feeling.

Beating Volk would be a great test but I also hope it isn't just a close decision.

BTW hearing news that the UFC Louisiana fight may be Holloway vs Poirier. I will do my best to be there as Poirier is repping the State and Holloway is my favorite fighter.
