just make it happen.

That’s where I am at on this. Jones is the goat and should be able to call his shots at this point. Poatan is already a legend and if he wants this shot should be able to have it.

Dana should use the aspinall fight as leverage to get jones back in the cage sooner.

Regardless, there hasn’t been a bigger fight in ufc history than this would be credential wise.even bigger than silva gsp would have been.

Just think about it, Pereira going for his 3rd belt (never happened before vs the guy widely considered the best to ever do it.)

Except he wouldn't be. Jones abdicating the belt will 100% be a requirement to fight Poatan. If Poatan wants the HW belt, he'll be fighting Aspinall for it.

No one is buying this from Jon. He's going to get tagged as ducking Aspinall. I don't see how he gets around that. When you avoid the interim guy and ask to not only go fight a guy in a lower weight class, but that weight class is 60lbs under your own, that's a bad look.

dudes got like 10 hall of famers on his resume and is looking to add 1 more but you think he is ducking a guy that has beat only 1 champion(a washed up one) ? That makes no sense. not to mention your point doesnt either because you seem to be ok with aspinall fighting with poatan and aspinall is heavier than jones.

Didn't get to watch Saturday but just getting caught up on the action. Hate seeing Chandler lose but man Oliviera is just a dog. Freaking love watching that dude fight. He just does everything so well.

There's no telling what Chandlers record would be if he wasn't so reckless/wild at times. He probably could have finished Charles in the fifth after he stunned him really good if he would have been tactical but instead he went with a couple wild punches that missed and allowed Charles to recover.

Ready for him to get another shot at the belt though. Don't know how anyone can beat Islam but I'd like to see the rematch. He's earned it.

Why? Dana would want the marketing of Pereira trying to be the first 3 division champ vs the greatest ever

Jones is the one who put out the idea of abdicating the HW belt to fight Pereira. Nobody was saying anything about that before Jones came up with it.

That suggestion is so convenient for Jones in multiple ways. Doesn't have to fight Aspinall. Doesn't have to put a belt on the line ever again. Denies Pereira his chance at becoming the first triple champ.

You'd think people would want to see the best of the best fight under the highest stakes with all the chips on the table.

Pereira hinting at fighting Aspinall while being the same age as Jones is hurting Jones's argument. If Aspinall is just some unproven young guy, then why is Pereira game to fight him? It also shows Pereira's willingness to move up a weight class for the HW belt, which makes Jones's idea about abdicating the belt seem uncalled for.
