Islam comes off as a bit of a weirdo & seemed lethargic. Maybe there is something to the staph rumors.
Is DP hard of hearing? He's always asking: "what did he say? can you repeat that?"

Completely agree. I’m pulling for Dustin, but I think he’s too one dimensional to beat Islam. Volk is a slugger too, but he kept it close in the first fight with his strength and his ability to defend Islam’s takedowns. I’m not convinced Dustin can do that. If he just concedes the takedowns like he did against Do Bronx and Khabib, he’ll either lose on points or get submitted. It’s a really bad matchup for Dustin, but damn I’ll be pumped if he can pull this off.

How's he come off as a weirdo? He doesn't seem any different here then before any other fight, seems calm and confident as usual.

Islam should win but idk this one feels different than when he fought Khabib. I didn’t even bother watching the Khabib fight that’s how much I knew he didn’t have a shot. He’s come a long way since then. If Islam is cocky enough to stand with him he can catch him

The Diamond said he’s walking out to this tomorrow night and I’ve had it on repeat. I haven’t been this hype for a fight since Conor-Khabib

Is it really cocky when Islam has already proven he can stand with some of the bests already though?

Everyone knows about Islam’s
grappling skills, it he’s a much better striker than people give him credit for And he can take some shots too. I’m interested in his game plan. I think he goes in trying to make a point by dominating Dustin in all phases like he did against Do Bronx. Hopefully Dustin can catch him before he gets taken down.

Yeah, none of those Dagestani guys have ever had a problem with one dimensional fighters, whatever one dimension they may be.

Who has Islam just stood and banged with in the past few yrs? Bobby Green 3 yrs ago?? Volk is a division lighter than him and much much smaller man, who took the second fight on 12 days notice and was out of shape.

Anyone else who presents a major striking threat, Islam is going to drag down and smother. That's what he did to Dan Hooker. That's what he did to Drew Fiber.

He's never just going try to stand there in a phone booth with a guy like Dustin or Gaethje or Holloway, etc. Those guys are top of the food chain bangers, Islam, while better than Khabib, is not.

The reason he gets so many shots off is because the opponent is always terrified of the takedown, so they have to strike somehwhat sparingly and timidly.

Khabib is also in his corner and will always tell him to start grappling if he tries to bang too much with Dustin. It's just what he is going to do.

He had no problem standing with Charles Oliveira, sure Volk is a division lighter but still can't take away how Islam did him, obviously Islam will try to take Dustin down at some point but he's gonna test the waters standing for a bit.

I was actually thinking, what if Dustin called Islam out during the press conference and said you'll never be able to beat me standing up, or you could never match me in striking? Try to bait Islam's ego a bit. It'd never work, too transparent. But if Dustin could keep things standing up, he has a shot. Puncher's chance.

One more sleep.

It’s MMA which involves ground game + stand ups. Why do people try to call our a fighter like Islam by asking him to ignore his strong point and stand there and bang ? It’s like daring a run orient team in football to sling the ball 50 times a game. Except no one does that’s. Team is doing whatever to win. Same with MMA.

Besides, if you want to watch pure striking go watch kick boxing or muay thai. You think these elite strikers of Max, Gaethje, or Dustin would stand and bang with someone like Tawanchai? I think not.

Let’s go. I read that Trump will attend. Will be interesting to see the crowd response up here.

ESPN says that the Countdown show is on right now, but it's not. They are talking Ole Miss baseball. ESPN has really gone downhill.
