Those take downs where useless, he did nothing with them and Izzy got right back up

Agrred. Just seems like this is the first time that I can remember it was scored that way. The amount of times guys win rounds because of a single take down that they did nothing with is super annoying

Them takedowns should have won it for Rob imo, Izzy unimpressive

That’s not how it works

If your opponent gets immediately up from a take down

he did not threaten anything with the takedowns, doesnt mean you just get the round for a takedown. Izzy did way more damage

All izzy did was kick legs and get taken down
and land more significant strikes in 4/5 rounds.

But, all the takedowns did was show how good Israel is at takedown defense.

Getting taken down showed how good he was at takedown defense?

Colby v Masvidal will be a popcorn fight. It's going to be wild. That's one that will entertain the frick out of evryone.

Live both fighters, but I have Colby as a decent favorite.

Hope Dana doesn't schedule Cannonier. That dude stands no chance and is a waste of a main event. This whole division is pretty much a dud. Nobody can really challenge lasagna.

People equate takedowns to something that changes the tide score wise, but there's a difference between say Khabib's takedowns and what Whittaker was doing, and the judges see that too

I mean, the takedowns lasted about 2 seconds. So, maybe not takedown defense. But, what do you call it when a guy lands an unimpressive takedown and can't maintain position for more than 1 second?

Ground defense but that's different than takedown defense.

Usman should move up but he won't.

I would say that leg kicks are too much of a focus now. A leg kick should be about 1/4 the importance of a solid punch. These technical ballerina fights are getting old. It's like neither fighter tonight wanted to let it loose and beat the other. Almost looked like a dance between two men.

“Unimpressive” against the best challengers in the division. May not be the flashiest fighting but he’s super clean and efficient with what he’s doing and still winning matches.

Izzy pressed most of that fight but respected what Rob was capable of. Whittaker didn’t want to let loose and leave himself open for the quick strikes of Izzy ala first fight between the two…

I can see Izzy trying LHW once more if the UFC gives him Jiri/Glover winner. Don’t think he wants to fight a big brute like Jan again

Any tweets yet about Fabio Cherant? That was probably the all time worst performance I've seen in the octagon. Dude landed 13 strikes in the whole fight. He should be cut from the roster by the end of the day.
