Conor’s coach was on a YouTube interview a few hours ago. Conor attempted a front leg kick to the body that Dustin checked with his right elbow. He said that caused the fracture.

They showed a slo-mo clip.

His coach also essentially said that McGregor fricked up by throwing that front leg, front-kick against a southpaw because of how easy it is for a lead elbow parry and block that can result in injury on the shin... Which is exactly what happened.

He also said Connor fricked up the guillotine as well. Apparently they knew Porier's head would be there when he was against the fence and Conor was only supposed to attempt it while standing, and if it wasn't there, then he was supposed to let him go and get back to boxing in the middle of the ring, which is Conor's strength.

I think his coach said it was a "slight technical mistake" or some bullshite.

Apparently the Irishman just ain't too bright.

If the dude is gonna resurrect his career he needs to go train somewhere else. This is the exact same situation that rousey was in, except Conor has more heart.

What the hell was CM's target? He kicked left-leg across his body at the area to the right of DP (from CM's perspective. Was DP's left arm the target?
I checked the feet to see if DP was shifting towards that point (and CM thought he was coming in) or away (was there but pulled back) but see nothing.
Looks like such an awkward kick but I'm no expert.

Mcgregor coach said they had drilled more liver kicks so it was supposed to be more of a sidekick where he can dig his heel in the liver. He said that he wasn’t really looking for the snapping karate style kicks and wasn’t sure why Conor did it.

bullshite. He’s out of shape, past his prime in a really competitive division. Tonight was a sympathy payout from Dana or maybe the ufc is that irrelevant. Has been loser. Greg Hardy was a headliner so maybe the ufc is that irrelevant
Time to revisit this?

CM confirms he had a stress fracture going into the fight.

And still threw a bunch of legs kicks? Even before his leg snapping, Dustin did some serious gnp. And even before the going to the ground, Dustin was getting the better of the exchange standing up.

CM confirms

He's either full of shite or needs to find a new gym. He knows exactly how dangerous that can be:

He snapped his leg because he got in the ring with a more durable fighter. Got a front kick blocked by DP's elbow and it snapped right where that contact was made. Poirier broke Conor's leg. Hilarious anyone would buy his excuses.

I don’t care that he confirmed it. I am just under the firm opinion that he had a fracture before breaking his leg the way he did. Whether or not it happened before the match is not a big deal.

His own coach "confirmed" that the blocked kick is "clearly where the fracture happened".

My post in here on page 59:

He definitely injured, and possibly fractured, his ankle earlier in the fight. A leg doesn’t just snap like that. That would’ve typically been a twisted ankle.
Again, I’m simply pointing out that he had an injury that caused his leg to snap.

He's fortunate to be walking. Don't expect the same guy who was losing to guys who keep getting beat going up the food chain. The biggest nothing so-called superstar in my lifetime.
