bet he’s gonna take the 4th fight “very seriously.” He’s gonna be “all business” and be “looking like the old Conor.”

Conor was not winning this fight.

And Conor's coach will go on some podcast interview and say the exact same things and then the result will still be the same against top guys.

Yeah on the ground Dustin was winning but Conor got back up

Dustin let him back up after Conor ate elbows for 2 minutes.

Obviously anything can happen, but Dustin easily won round 1 and was in control.

He brings in the viewers and the buildup to the fight.

There is real hate between him and poirier.

I want to see another fight.

Celebrate what was. The forks in him though. It was a fun ride.

I don’t doubt they’ll throw his old dusty bum out there until he can’t hobble around the ring anymore.

He needs to string together 2-3 wins again before being taken seriously. But, that’s me.

McGregor is my favorite fighter with Poirier a close 2nd. I still think Connor is one of the best in the business on his feet. But he is either hard headed or has terrible cornermen and trainers. Game plan seems to be get the quick knockout with no plan B if it doesn’t happen early.
Too predictable now. He looks great at the start, when he pressures the fighters. He was hurting Poirier with those kicks and if he would’ve landed that one left…Dustin goes to sleep.
But as soon as he starts backing up, he gets taken down. Connor being mounted by guys like Poirier and Khabibs are gonna be a bad time for Connor.
Connor trying for the guillotine wasn’t gonna work.
*Poirier climbing the fence with his feet was different but effective if legal.
I thought the fight was gonna get called until he landed the kick off his back. That surprised me since I thought Connor had already accepted a loss.

I just wanted it go the distance or by knockout on their feet.
But McGregor having no answer for being taken down makes him unable to be a complete fighter.
Connor is just too small at this division with the larger grappler fighters.

Fact is Conor is surrounded by yes men now, should have ditched his coach and trainers after the Khabib fight.

Mcgregor is done.

Agreed. I think he could still fight, but not at that high of a level. He really needs to drop down a weight class.

He won’t because it won’t bring in the money he would want.

Don't know about that. He checked one of his kicks and clearly pointed to it afterwards. He felt something crack.

Conor's gameplan was obviously to rely heavily on kicks. The fact that he tried the guillotine is signal to me that he was reaching for something else. The current Poirier is durable as all hell at 155 and gets stronger throughout a fight. The guillotine attempt was pretty telling.

They addressed where the animosity started between McGregor and Poirier on the post fight…Conor said he was going to donate 500k to Poirier’s charity and there was a delay in the funds getting there and Poirier called McGregor out. Who does that over a charitable donation? Douche move

That guillotine attempt was hilarious.

Anyone who’s done basic BJJ could tell that was never going to work. Just desperate.

The guillotine, he thought, was wide open.. And it kind of was, so he took it. But as someone said earlier, he should have just let Porier go and try to strike with him. His fight iq, I think because of his coaching, is terrible.

Conor's not beating any skilled ground fighter in a submission game...ever.

Yea, promising to donate $500K to a charity and then trying to quietly back out is a piece of shite move.

What's funny is Conor fought Khabib as well as, and maybe even better, than Poirier and Gaethje.

I really don't think it's a commitment issue for Conor, I think it's just a combination of Khabib was superior, 2020 was a COVID shitshow where he couldn't get booked, and Poirier put it on him. The ankle breaking, IDK, but to me he's finished for now. I don't see him competing with the top guys anytime soon, even after he rehabs. He needs to take 12+ months off and really figure out how to fix his fight IQ.

The first 2 minutes of ground mcgregor was doing significantly more than Poirier with the guillotine attempt at first and then elbows from the bottom

McGregor said that his team vetted Porier's charity and that they felt it was a scam, so he donated the money somewhere else.
