Does Nick Saban ever really allow title opponents are puncher's chance? Did Wooden? Auerbach? 1920s and 1930s Yankees? etc..
You know what's forthcoming, find a way to stop it, best it..otherwise..you lose.
Nick Saban went up to the NFL
Aldo is going up to 155 if he wins
Penn went up to 170
Silva went up to 205 at least to fight some semi-bums
Jones will go up to HW eventually
Bendo wants to go up to fight GSP
GSP wants to hug small guys for 25 minutes then cash endorsement checks. All those people had it in them to go up and challenge the best etc. Some people like Coach K, GSP, or JT Curtis are content just compiling stats and records and making money.

I switched from rooting for Hendricks to rooting for Condit halfway through the fight the other night when snuggling became his obvious strategy.

As if GSP is the only guy who cuts weight at ww.

Never thought I'd see those three in the same sentence.

would "gsp wants to hug only guys his own size or smaller unless they are named Thiago Alves" make you cry less?

Kos is not a striker. He's a great wrestler who happens to generate a lot of power when he throws his right hand all the way from his arse.
this. can't compare Kos to Big Rig... the way hendricks set up the left against a guy as elusive as condit was crazy. he was landing power shots every minute or 2 before he fricked up his hand.
there is something about a guy just going in and punchisizing ur face that is hard to prepare for. even when condit would come at him with a knee hendricks did a good job of dodging it then landing uppercuts and takedowns. gsp will try to jab frick him but if you watched the condit fight you know for sure big rig won't stay at that range. he doesnt get into leg kick/jab contests

I predict GSP lies on Hendricks for 5 rounds.
I think the UFC should make GSP fight Machida at 185.

Worst part about UFC. The refs need to start interfering when fighters are GSP'ing their opponents

spoiler for k1 grand prix if anyone cares
Cro Cop won this years grand prix somehow. He got lucky that Badr Hari got hurt but still hard to believe someone who was getting beat up pretty easily on the feet in the UFC can go win one of the biggest things in K1. has their talent level just fallen off that much? I love it seeing Cro Cop win some fights but this is not a good situation for k1. He won a controversial first fight but then he went on to beat his other 2 opponents pretty decisively to win the tourney.

The people who complain about GSP's style just need to go watch boxing. Opponent control is part of MMA. If you don't like watching wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and grecko, then go watch k1 or boxing. There is WAY more technique and skill involved in getting someone on the ground and controlling them than there is in winning a stand up fight. People that discount the best fighter in the class for being the best in a certain area just because he doesn't knock people out really get under my skin because they miss everything MMA brings to the table. I would rather see two great blackbelts grapple for control than two street fighters just throw haymakers at each other. I guess it all boils down to personal preference. But when you dislike a fighter because he's good at something you have no interest in watching makes no sense. Don't watch his fights. No one makes you. It still doesn't change the fact that he's the best.

I just want a scoring system more similar to Pride. It would change the approach to the lay n pray crowd.

His size or smaller? GSP weighs about 185. That is about average. The most GSP has ever weighed was about 192.
Alves, Hardy, Fitch, Shields, Condit, Koscheck, etc. were all as big or bigger than GSP.
