Dare say too cautious for Evans, as he is aiming for his "big" right hand to win this fight? Evans is a decisioner historically, a wrestler despite his balanced skillsets, he wasn't gonna knock out Bones..

I couldn't believe that he waited that long to let it fly in the 5th. He knew going in he needed a knockout and he didn't unload until there were 20 seconds left.

Odd, odd strategy. He let Jones fight at long distance for most of the fight; he stood no chance.

I honestly don't think takedown attempts would've mattered

i dont but he still had to try them. waiting to land a right hand with your back against the cage for 25 minutes is 100% not going to work

Nor due I, but it would have increased his chances greatly. It's common sense.

Sure he can. Jones is a massive 205er.

Depends on who he fights

Some are talking title shot; JDS would bash him right now.

he has some tiny arse legs. he could carry considerable more weight, but it would come at the expense of mobility.

He doesnt have the one punch KO power at 205. Hes just a tremendously gifted athlete. I think he could beat JDS.

. From the start he should've been looking for a take down

He did try for some take-downs, but got shrugged off like a child. He couldn't take Jones down, wouldn't have mattered how many times he tried. Not to mention he gassed early on in that fight which would have made it even harder for him to do so.

Jones' cardio is unrivaled at that weight class. He's never winded.

UFC won't let him go to HW for a while and even then they'll probably handpick someone for him to not be a big threat. Just look at GSP and Silva defending over and over and half the title defenses are against people who have absolutely no reason to be in the same cage with them.

He didn't try to finish that fight. He had the guillotine locked in and let it go without provocation. He could've ended that one anytime he wanted to and didn't.

That Blackzilians camp is a joke. Don't expect to see Melvin there much longer. I would expect to see a change after the Camoes fight.

You'd hope. He's their biggest money fighter at the moment.

I'd assume Hendo and then Gustafsson...then an assessment of what's going on in Heavy vs what Silva is doing(Silva a giant MW)

JDS has the best boxing in all of MMA and has excellent power. his reach and size wouldn't dwarf JDS like he does in LHW. It is a nightmare matchup for Jones.

Jones might be able to take JDS down though. I mean Gonzaga took him down. And nobody really knows what JDS is like on the ground.
