They should have scheduled better competition. One win against the third best SEC doesn’t do it. Besides that all they have is Memphis. Being in a bad conference is no excuse to not play good competition if you want to be known in that regard.

I think they would have fared well against BYU, Tenn-Chatt, Troy State, and every other team on our schedule except perhaps Bama.
Memphis and South Florida were top 15 teams, they beat them both, and they beat a good Auburn team.
The AAC is without question the strongest G5 conference and had power ratings better than some P5 conferences.

I can not wait until some organization comes out and names them National Champions. Then the people whining in these threads will have nothing to hold onto.
UCF is doing what all schools before the Alliance and Coalition did, politic for a National Championship. This is no worse than Penn St screaming after they beat Oregon in the Rose Bowl for a share.

Well this is false. The winner of the Playoff is the only national champion. UCF being crowned by anyone else would literally be fake news.

Oh no, it is not false. SI can name themselves a National Champion, Sporting News could. Just because it does not fit your narrative, it does not make their claim of being National Champion by someone any less true.

It is literally false. There is only one way to be the recognized national champion in college football. UCF isn't playing in the game that determines the champion. So, they will never be the recognized champion this year. And any publication claiming them to be will be fake news. Pretty simple.

Just like the BCS, all conferences agreed to recognize the winner of the playoff as national champion before it started. Don't like it, start your own league. No different than little kids changing the rules mid-game because he's losing. No one legitimately thinks UCF is the national champ. Most are just butthurt Bama made it and beat Clemson.
