And this is basically Ngannou’s only chance. Do some crazy blitz/spam and get lucky. He’ll obviously lose in any technical punching match

Ngannou vs Wilder would've been a better fight, but likely a lower payday.

Not sure what the payout is gonna be for Fury on this (compared to other top hw boxers). But this is most likely a very smart business decision by him and his team.

The guy retires every other week and he refuses to fight the best of the best in his division. The way he is always running away he is indeed the Gypsy King.

Good for Ngannou to finally get his payday that Dana wouldn’t give to him

Francis never headlined a PPV that did more than 200,000-400,000 buys (at $70-75 per buy).

He simply isn’t a big draw.

No interest in this. People have no idea how good professional boxers are and Fury is the best of the bunch. It's unfathomable what they do with their hands.

Yep, just look at how easily Floyd Mayweather toyed with Connor McGregor when they fought.

Floyd was retired, but a multiple weight division champion who went undefeated in his career and McGregor was good in MMA but was having his boxing debut. Total mismatch from start to finish.

He never really resonated with MMA fans. He never struck me as a guy that loved the fight game or a guy that wanted to be great.

The hybrid glove thing gives Francis a punches chance but that's all it is

I think a smaller glove helps Fury more. I’m sure his hands are bigger/stronger. In fact, I’d say, doing this might make Fury deadly, literally.

People seem to forget why boxing gloves are cushioned in the first place.

Dude would be instantly KO’d if he came at Fury like that.

Fury’s hands would just go up, he’d guard against those with ease, lower his body, and come up with an uppercut that would floor the dude.

That’s not how this works

Boxing still has the cash to pay these top guys more than the ufc will

No, that's not how it's going to work. The lighter the padding in the glove, the easier for Fury to light up Ngannou.

A boxer's main weapons are his ability to land hard punches and have good enough ring generalship to avoid what's coming back. That is what they train for, and to do so with one complimenting the other.

Even though MMA fighters do punch, they also rely heavily on their take down moves, wrestling, jiu jitsu, ground and pound, etc. and not many of them punch near as accurately as a boxer.

I agree it should be one sided in Fury’s favor. But it is a fight and Francis is very strong with incredible punching power. A lucky punch is always possible. 95% likely Fury wins easily though.

Fury is mentally unstable/ill.
