The true immaculate inning, as defined by 9 pitches, 3 strikeouts, has only happened 107 times.
By contrast, there have been 316 recognized no-hitters, though that doesn't count no-hitters such as Andy Hawkins losing at the White Sox 4-0 in 1990 while not giving up a hit in 8 innings. MLB used to recognize those types of no-hitters but changed the rule not long after the Hawkins game.

Luis Garcia and Phil Maton both pitched immaculate innings in the same game against the Rangers. They both did it against the same 3 hitters.
In a sport full of absurd statistical anomalies, this is the most absurd anomaly I have ever heard of. This will likely never happen again. Incredible.

Cool.
Last season my kid threw one in 9th grade baseball.
He had no idea until after the game.

I'm aware. I was referring to the 3 pitch inning which I thought would be very rare. But it happens pretty regularly.

Twice by the same team in the same game against the same 3 batters?
Never, ever.
