Seems like a lazy hire, but don’t see how he could be any worse than Travis Jewett. I guess we’ll just see how this works out

AD is an IDIOT

He was the interim guy. He was on the staff the last 2 years.

Their fans aren't happy with the hire:

I am ok with giving Uhlman an interview. He knows the players better than anybody. Maybe Dannen can learn something during the interview that might help in the search. For Uhlman, he gets the experience of interviewing for a head coaching position and his agent can use it to help get him interviews for other jobs. I don't see much downside.

The downside is that he’s apparently being considered for the job and could be hired as the head coach

Twitter is reporting its Uhlman to get the job. That's a very disappointing hire imo

Dannen striking out left and right. Not surprised.

it;s already gone.. if this is true, Dannen has proven he doesn't give 2 sharts about baseball... just kill the program if you're going to make moves like this

fan base will not come back

I hope Coach Uhlman succeeds, but this reeks of laziness and sheer don't-give-a-damn.

If we really held a national search then this means we are not an attractive job to good coaches. Maybe there are things that coaches want that the school can promise to provide.

UNBELIEVABLE! WE NOW KNOW TULANE CARES NOTHING ABOUT BASEBALL. I saw so many mistakes made during his short stint as HC. Oh well, I guess it’s true “Tulame” it is

As another poster said, If Tulane really wanted to go cheap with the new baseball coach, I wonder why they didn’t call Matt Riser?

Tulane doesn't actually care about sports and thats fine. I wonder why they even bother with the charade. Your quotes come from about half of their "fans."

Tulane is a stepping stone job. Don't let the Greenies tell you any different. I got shite on a few years back saying that when they hired Pierce

No shite, no one is under the illusion it isn't. That shouldn't prevent them from getting a coach that's won something from a stepping stone school that's in a conference lower than there's.

I haven't been able to follow the baseball program this year as closely as years past but this would be a bad/lazy hire even for Dickson....

Im sure the yoggie boards 7 posters are all blowing each other over how great of a hire this is.

Hopefully I am wrong.

Wow on further review the yoggie board aren't blowing each other over this hire.

After more than half the team entered the portal I really think this hire was an attempt to get as many back as possible since the word is the kids liked Uhlman and hated Jewett. I used to be very close to the program but after Pierce left I might have gone to a dozen games max. The last two years I haven't even bothered to watch a game on ESPN+. The one sport that used to be consistently competitive is in the dumpster now.
