Considering I know Scott Cowan and he tells me and my dad that it's not true every time I ask him, I'll go with that til I hear any different. But I sure as hell hope your right.

That kind of product isn't worth anyone's time or money, at least not when there's no current hope of improvement.

Not that I'm a Bob Toledo fan, but they have improved since last year. Attendance already sucks if I go there is really no difference and the football program will likely lose money this season. I couldnt call myself a fan if I didnt show up because they werent good. They havent been good in about 8 years.

Tulane got a sweet deal when they allowed the state to build the Dome & tear down Tulane stadium. They signed a 75 year contract where they basically pay staffing costs and that's it.

That's just fricking embarrassing. It's sad when a HS game only has like a hundred or so people, but a 5K crowd in the Superdome is just pitiful.

Yeah he hasnt done a bad job recruiting but in-game decisions are terrible and up until the UTEP game the offensive gameplans had sucked.

I have heard them say it before, but more so a recommendation from fans, never from the school itself.

Tulane football would be much improved with an on or near campus stadium. It'll probably never happen though.

Rick Dickson and Bob Toledo both need to go pretty soon. They need new leadership behind any campaign for whatever upgrades they want to make to the program. The donors have given up on both of them.

Why did the state have to tear down Tulane Stadium to build The Superdome? It's not in the same spot right?

yeah, but it was clearly a mistake. there are still alot of Tulane fans uptown, but the college game just doesnt translate well into venues like the Dome.

To my knowledge the old stadium was condemned the same time the Superdome was opened.

I don't think it was demanded that the building be demolished...in fact I think it stood in place for a good 5 years before it finally came down for good.

Not true. My freshman year at Newman our home games were at Tulane Stadium. Fall of 1979.

Yep. The placekicker from Rummel scored the last point in the old stadium in '79. It was demolished after that.
