?? Man, thats some BS you spoutin. Lol Curtis Johnson the coach before Fritz took Tulane to a bowl game, and they were others before Johnson that took Tulane to bowl games,

I didn't say a single bowl. I said 3 in 6 years which is what he has done.

Fritz's overall record of 30-38 w/3 bowl games w/2 wins crushes the 3 coaches before him.

Curtis Johnson - 15-34, 1 bowl loss
Bob Toledo - 15-40, zero bowls, fired mid year his last season w/interim coach finishing 0-6
Chris Schlefo - 37-57, 1 bowl win (was also interim coach for '98 Liberty Bowl which was also a win)

The one time Tulane did anything in the last 70 years was when Tommy Bowden was hired he lucked out having Shaun King already on the team and that Rich Rodriguez was one of the first OCs to use spread in major CFB which caught a lot of teams by surprise.

Even Mack Brown had a losing record at Tulane w/his best season being 6-6 w/a loss in the Independence Bowl and that was seen as such an accomplishment he was hired away by North Carolina.

Tulane played much tougher schedules when Mack Brown was there and there were less bowl games

Vince Gibson put it on LSU in '81 and '82.

They basically already gave him a lifetime contract, which is why he can now coast with all the job security in the world. The best Tulane can do is mediocre because that’s the goal. You get a raise and a contract extension for it.

I’m not sure how much better than Fritz we could do. Tulane is just a shite program, we have FCS level facilities, zero fan support, and an administration that couldn’t give a frick about athletics.

I honestly don’t know why anyone would take that job unless they think they can strike lightning in a bottle and bolt the first possible opportunity like Tommy Bowden did

Building Yulman was a mistake. Should have taken that money and built up the other facilities and continued playing in the Dome

Completely disagree. I love Yulman.
Went to LSU, but my sons first football game will be at Yulman rather than Tiger Stadium.

All Tulane needs is student support imo. Their student section rivals local high schools in attendance. Get them attending, build a supporting culture from the student body, and the program will grow.

You have to give the students a product worth watching.

Yulman is not a bad place to watch a game. As someone who watches Tulane and wants them to succeed, I don’t believe it was the best investment. Their other facilities suck(weight room) or are nonexistent (IPF, Football Ops building)
