Maybe. Good goalkeepers for sure...and got flopping down. But could you imagine all the broken ankles? Defense would be cut through like swiss cheese.

I doubt it. Stamina is a huge problem for most baseball players. Most aren't very good athletes. Most just have great hand-eye coordination.

Nah, no stamina. Also, SOOO slow on foot speed.

Soccer is incredibly skill based....which takes years upon years of training.

Disagree completely, hitting a baseball is one of the hardest things to do. Especially a player who is good enough to see the majors and his curveball.

A lot of baseball players also grew up playing soccer, I think they could transition to soccer better than other sports. Especially since Baseball is influenced by a lot of players from South America.

100% chance this was not taken into consideration when making this thread.

He probably just thinks soccer is "easy" or whatever and any elite athlete could step in and play professionally with little training.

Id say that soccer has more athletes (as a percentage) on the field of play than any other sport.

20% of guys on a basketball court could be this guy

like 40% of guys on an NFL offense are clinically obese.

You can't just make giant comparisons like "nfl players have slow feet" and "baseball players aren't good athletes"

There are a lot of guys in each major sport that could only play that sport and many guys that could have been pro in multiple sports.

An OBJ or Reggie Bush likely could have been great pro soccer players if thats all the focused on.

Lebron is a freak athlete but people would run circles around him (and through his leg) on the soccer field.

There is no universal perfect athlete

I was unaware that Odell was an example of the average nfl player/position.

Neither would score a goal/bucket against the other in their respective sports

This thread is idiotic. Soccer players are some of the best conditioned athletes in sports. Very few sports require the stamina of soccer not to mention the coordination and fast twitch muscle ability required.

And I don't even like soccer.

Just because someone runs more doesnt mean they are "more athletic". The idea of athleticism encompasses the entirety of physical fitness.

I didn't say average. I said the best.

What about soccer players is more athletic than recievers? Being able to run for 90 minutes isn't that impressive to me knowing I could do it when I was in good shape

Ochocinco grew up playing soccer. During the lockout/strike a few years ago he was able to try out with Sporting Kansas City. After working with them for a while, he was still getting embarrassed by the reserve team.
