Tears will be shed by the MSM that he exits CFB without a heisman. The 222 people that voted him first should have their votes revoked.
Jacksonville is a good situation for him though. I think he has Luck's talent but not sure he has the same head for the game. I see a Stafford type career moreso than a brees/rodgers/brady/mahomes. Jacksonville has a pretty solid group of young players though that will flourish with the right coaching hire and offseason personnel moves

I guess it's better than going to the Jets but the Jaguars aren't far behind. The owner is as bad as Jerry Jones.
Will they ever end up in London? I assume once COVID is over they will go back to playing games across the pond.

one could argue Luck was headed for the Stafford trajectory himself

Gtfo
Dude started for three seasons, lost 2 games, and was in the playoffs each year.
Easily the best resume this season. He lost because covid and woke media

quote:Yea, no. Smith was a beast and the obvious Heisman this year. The Heisman only matters for one year Lawrence's resume is irrelevant.

If you’re Lawrence and the Jets are at 1, do you still declare?

So Tua should have won last year then?

its pretty incredible that he will leave college without winning the Heisman

There’s no way that Lawrence deserved the Heisman over Smith.

Bad comparison is bad
Lawrence had nearly a season more of starts than Tua.

How? He had a much better career than Burrow, plus he's of color since that apparently factors in for you.
Or was Burrow's 2019 such an impressive season that it overshadowed a great career. That sounds familiar.

Heisman precedent tends to be that it is a Lifetime Achievement Award for a good player rather than the best player that season.
Billy Cannon, for example, didn’t play nearly as well the season he won as the year previous when LSU won a title but John David Crow took home the Heisman.
Herschel Walker also got fricked on the Heisman early in his college career by not getting it while putting up record numbers. He finally got it as a Junior.
Am I saying Lawrence should have won it over Devonta? No. But the Heisman voters have a history of going with longevity over single season achievements.

I just told you. Read.

Much better? Tua threw 76 TDs in 2 seasons to Burrow's......gasp....76 TDs in 2 seasons.

Your decades old examples don't really jive with their more recent votes.
The most recent one you could say resembled a career achievement award was Smith in 2007.

Well this is just disingenuous as hell, but we already knew that with your blazing hot woke take.

Then explain Tebow winning it as a Sophomore in 2007. The next year he is in the BCS Championship game at 12-1 but loses it to, yet another Sophomore, Sam Bradford. 2009 was Ingram as a Sophomore. Manziel was a RS Freshman in 2012, as well as Jameis in 2013. Maybe it used to be that way, but over the last 10-15 years it has become a best individual season, or best player on best team award.

If you want to talk best season, Mac Jones is holding that trophy.
