Total points and assists isn't really the true story, but Trae has been great this year. Capela came in out of game shape because of injury rehab and now we've been hit with several injuries. Should be able to rebound from the less than ideal start.

It is not a great roster for sure, but Lukes role in that is not insignificant. FAs aren’t lining up to play with him that is for sure. Nobody is saying trade me to Dallas either.

Yeah there's this thing called cap space that Dallas doesn't have to get the big time FAs. Kind of need that. It's that kind if disingenuous BS you fart out is why you need to do this LINK

Aren’t you the Dallas fan? Trae is playing much better than the wide load wearing 77 these days. Luka could put 777 on the back his jersey . Reporting to camp at 270 something smh

More like Luka Donthicc, amirite?

Whatever happened to him playing worse due the new foul rules?

Meanwhile, Luca Docic is getting fat. He's starting to look like the Pillsbury doughboy coming down the track.

Luka was someone who had a grown man body at age 15 and was playing against grown men. When Trae was playing high schoolers, Luka was playing grown men. Luke was always gonna come into the league more nba ready than trae but the flip side of that is he was also closer to being the player he would be at his best. Luke is pretty much the same player he was his rookie year statistically, whereas you see trae getting noticeably better and better each year.

not sure why this is getting downvoted. it's spot on

I was listening to a Mavs podcast and they made a good point. The media like to beat the easiest narrative to death, so this Luka weight thing was gonna blow up. And most people in general are gullible idiots.

Basically anyone who tried to blame the Mavs struggles on Luka’s weight are just people letting you know they have no fricking idea what they are talking about and don’t actually watch the Mavs.

Anyone who watches the Mavs even a little knows the biggest problem is shooting and a coach playing lineups that clog the lane and not putting guys in position to do what they do best.

Luka has the 3 pt and ft% equal to Giannis and is 20+ lb over weight.

Luka sets his teammates up for as many wide open 3’s as anyone in the league and the Mavs miss as many open 3’s as anyone in the league.

Even guys with ok numbers like Maxi and Dorian brick a ton of wide open 3’s. It’s the biggest reason they are struggling, but let’s blame Luka’s weight.

And I’m not some Luka fanboy who will defend him for anything. The weight thing needs to be fixed, his defense has been awful, and the bitching to the refs is out of control and hurts the team more than his weight.
