I didn't praise Nova I said he is an inning water #4 and said Buerhle is nothing special innings eater..... Actually they are pretty much same minus fact that Nova is younger but Mark may but up a bit better ERA. I don't see how Jays staff is better....
CC, Hughes, Kuroda (assuming resigns), Andy, Nova
All out performed Jays pitchers last year, only Kuroda/Andy look like they may regress but Hughes was very good for the Yankees after a rough first month, Phelps pitched well in spot duty, Nova will put up number similar to last, and CC is still an ace.
Jays know what they will get with Mark, Romero probably finds middle ground between last year and year before, Johnson is an unknown as his best season was 2010 an last year had a 3.81 ERA in NL, Alverez (who was traded) had best ERa among Jays starters (who qualified), Morrow may be the ace of that staff.

Yup a lot of it depends on health of Morrow, Reyes, Bautista....

quote:well that's always the way it goes for the Jays, I look at this deal though and can't wait for spring training to start...maybe for the first time in 10 years...

AL east is going to be fun this year.
I wouldnt totally assume the Jays are the best team. A lot of times when teams add players like this, it doesn't always work out right away. But damn, they are putting some pressure on the Yanks with a move like this.
sucks for the orioles, who are almost assuredly going to battle for last place with the Sox
and giancarlo stanton is mad.
Marlins are truly a joke.

Does Brett hit more than 15 home runs?
Is Colby going to be Adam Dunn? Power, strike outs, low avg
Does Edwin repeat?
What happens with Lind, Davis, JP???
Is Johnson resigned? If not Emilo can play there correct?

Good god almighty. Time to rename Miami the Miami Hindenburgs
Posted on 11/13/12 at 6:37 pm to tduecen
This may be a win for Miami. Depends on how they go forward. I like it for them more than the birds.
