Doesn't Spokane host a round this year? Washington is getting hit hard

i think there is too much money and good old fashioned american ignorance for it to be fully canceled. closed doors maybe

but then i see that uefa is considering suspending champions league which dwarfs the ncaa's money wise so who knows.

10 days is a looonngggg time

Well they are to a certain extent, just not automatically to the NCAA tournament

First off, how often does this actually happen?

Even so, it seems rather fitting with the way the actual championship is determined.

That being said, I don't care for conference tournaments that don't provide any benefit for the teams that finished at the top of the league (home court, mulitple byes, etc). I do think some of that needs to change.

Conference tournaments determining NCAAT teams is stupid.
college basketball is a business. The purpose is to make $$$$$$$$$$$$$, not do what makes sense to fans. If they could make more money giving championships to the suckiest team instead of the best team, that's what they'd do.

Not really shocked that certain events are being canceled or at the minimum rescheduled.

The New York City St. Patrick’s Day parade is still on, and a friend's daughter’s high school is still sending its band to march.

Ireland has cancelled all of their parades. Boston cancelled theirs. NYC is still a go.

And so it begins. This is really gonna suck watching tournament games without fans. If they play it at all. And this was going to be one of the most exciting NCAA tourneys ever with such parity and no dominant teams.

Ivy League schools are culturally diverse. They’re trying to protect all tEgg’s from Dartmouth and Columbia etc

So they're cancelling conference tournaments, but they're still ok with sending the regular season champions to the NCAA tournament? Makes sense.

Good thing The Masters is run by a bunch of old white guys who hate women or they would have already canceled The Masters for this year.

Since when has the Ivy League had a conference tourney? I thought their regular season winner got the auto bid?

They started having a small 4 team tournament in 2017.

They'll just move that host site to somewhere else.

That exact scenario is rare, but it's pretty common for the 4th-6th place team in a bad conference to win the conference tournament. You mentioned that upsets are one of the best parts of the tournament, and I agree. However, you're likely to see more upsets when the 15-1 team gets the bid over the 9-7 team.

A Washington nursing home is getting hit hard, not Washington.

Are we really going to split hairs over this?

Also, Univ of Washington canceled classes for the remainder of the the quarter. I would say that this is a pretty unusual situation for that to take place.

Somebody needs to tell these egg heads there will be even bigger crowds at the ncaa tourney. This reeks of liberal grandstanding.

Not that anyone is wrong by referencing the crowds. They could be doing this for the teams that have to travel. These teams aren’t flying charter
