Actually it does matter.

If anything, the stretch is what screwed him.

This right here. He should have protected the ball. He should not have reached. He lost control, after the catch, and that is what opened it up to interpretation.

Dez, who does he think he is, OBJ!

Yep, some people just will not see it though.

Again the fact that he was falling doesn't matter because he made a football move. Nobody is saying he wasn't falling.

Mike Pereira. Also said he wasn't sure if the stretch and dive was pronounced enough to be a football move. There for ruling on field should stand even by his account of it. He just completely threw out the ruling on the field which trumps all.

Not based on precedent or the rule itself. The rule makes no exception for a falling player, and that same play has always been upheld as a catch.

Nobody is saying that? Hell, most cowboy fans are saying he caught it then dove to the line

The second he stretches that ball out to the goal line, he is making a football move. At that moment, it is a catch.

His elbow was down before the fumble, so it should have been spotted at the 1-yard line.

Once again, the fact that they REVERSED that call, when the decision on whether he stretched the ball and made a football move is AT MOST debatable, is simply a terrible call.

No shite. Yes he was falling down that is why the rule of football move applies. The question of if he made a football move comes to question. He can let the ball hit the ground IF he makes a football move. Its debatable. If it were not this thread wouldn't exist. So ruling on field stands.

Cowboy fans are grasping for straws trying to defend this catch. In the mid of the ref he didn't make a football move, the ground caused the ball to come dislodged from the players hand, and therefore it is incomplete.

I'll keep dropping it, Mike Pereira said no catch, are some of you on here suggesting you know more than a former VP of officiating?

If he was falling from the point of the catch, which he was, he has to maintain the catch through the ground.

This isn't rocket science.

Mike P said himself he wasn't sure whether or not the stretch was a football move. So without knowing it, he actually said the call should stand

You are a dumb arse. fricking Mike Pereira even said himself that it was disputable on the football move. That single statement is all you need to make the ruling on the field stand. You cannot throw away the fact that the ruling was of a completed catch.

In the end, I don't care. I just really enjoy watching these individuals who supported last weeks call blow up over this call.

It's glorious how opinions change when you get the short straw.

Not if he makes a football move.
