Agreed.

But that NY Times on his resume looks awfully intriguing to employers

Firing him should be the only ethical decision.

I used to wonder how he ever worked there, but then I remember all the scandals they've had of reporters just making shite up or plagiarising or being dishonest. I stopped wondering about that.

Will. Not. Rant.

To be fair, my hatred goes back to his Courier-Journal days. Even when he was a Pitino suckass.

Moreover, you would think the people running SI do not appreciate being made to look so fricking stupid.

The journalism world would become a better place if Thamel, Evans, and Forde all disappeared into the night and never returned.

nope...then you'd have to fire the editors who ran the story, the copy editors who didn't properly fact check, etc. where would it end?

Sadly, they're more worried about the pub they get from the stories guys like Thamel generates even if backed with sketchy information and sources.

If he is isn't fired then there is absolutely no accountability in sports journalism and writers should feel free to make up whatever the duck they want.

SI should punish by making him write a positive article about Calipari.

I'd fire him. but they protect their own. I love Poz, but he defended Selena Roberts for godsakes. Nothing will happen. He won't even get a reprimand. Some poor fact checker who makes $30k will get axed during his performance review.

She should be fired just so I don't have to look at her on TV anymore.

They need to overhaul their entire system. In my job if I did something like that I would be let go.

I'd fire him and I would fire whoever was supposed to be in charge of fact verification. If no one was in charge of fact verification I would fire the top person. No joke.
