Sleeper: Houston

They just man-handled FSU in their bowl game. Houston could beat anyone, and it wouldn't be a shock.

You could be right. They do have talent though, especially on the DL. Their offense underperformed last year too, and I'm expecting a significant improvement there.

Pains me to say it but A&M as my main sleeper. They have one of the best receiving corps and bash Trevor Knight all you want, but they are getting an experienced qb to throw to them. On defense they have a very good d line. I don't know how good their secondary is though.

Overhyped I'd probably put Ohio State. They lost an absurd amount of players and I think they lose at least 2 or 3 games.

Sure I'm bias but my sleeper is Oregon. No one is talking about us but our defense really can't get any worse. It just can't. Last year was just that bad and we still were a tough out.

On offense we have Freeman, return three olinemen and three wrs. I think we'll be fine this year.

Overhyped: Ohio State for reasons already mentioned. Lost a lot of talent.

I was wondering if anybody has made fun of the Tennessee pick, but didn't Michigan lose to App State and go on to finish like 10-2? Tennessee is not good enough to make the playoff, but the 1st week--especially on Thursday--may not be indicative of what kind of team you have.

That Michigan team lost its first two games (to App St and Oregon, IIRC) and still went 9 - 4 or something. They beat a pretty good Florida team (in between the 06 and 08 titles) in the Capital One Bowl. That was a very talented UM team that just never put its act together. They could have challenged for a title that year had they had their heads on straight.

Overhyped: Baylor and after tonight, perhaps Tennessee.

Underrated: Texas Tech and California.

Ole Miss is ranked too high. They lost too much talent from a team that lost 3 games last season. They'll have to work hard to be as good, and I don't see them being better than last year.

I actually think Oregon is underrated this year. They've been in the national spotlight for so long and they sort of fell off the face of the earth last year. They've got another talented transfer QB. One of the best RB in the country. A million weapons as usual. Defense has to be a little better, you'd think. Plus they get Stanford and Washington at home, I believe. They've got a chance to sneak into the Pac 12 Title Game.
