Are y'all serious with this? Good lord..
Very good, don't get me wrong. But Mett alone should keep this trio+1 out of this discussion. Hope he has a great NFL career though. And Hill was underrated in college for sure.

Well, since stats show how good a player was, and that's the whole point of this thread, I would say uhhh yeah
Not even remotely close to being true.

Only group in the SEC to have a 3000 yard passer, 2 1000 yard receivers, and a 1000 yard rusher.
The problem we're having is a stats vs player talent dispute.
Those 4 were great, and produced. 09 Alabama had Julio, Ingram, and Trent. Trent and Julio's stats that year made em look like scrubs though. We all know they aren't scrubs.
In the flip side, Trent isn't/wasn't as good as his 2011 stats say he is.

2003 USC -
QB: Matt Leinart
RBs: Reggie Bush, LenDale White,
WRs: Mike Williams and Steve Smith (Williams might have been a total bust in the Pros but he was awesome as hell in college)

Didn't Henne, Hart and Manningham all play together at UM?
I'm sure this isn't tbe best but worth interjecting.
ETA: someone already mentioned this.

In fairness to the LSU homers, it's hard to think of a better group last year than Mett/Hill/Beckham/Landry. Maybe McCarron/Yeldon/Cooper or Winston/Freeman/Benjamin.
Here are a few more:
1997 UT: Peyton Manning, Jamal Lewis, Peerless Price
1994 CU: Kordell Stewart, Rashaan Salaam, Michael Westbrook
2008-9 GT: Josh Nesbitt, Jonathan Dwyer, Bay Bay Thomas (just go with it

You're missing the point. You can't choose a combo with two great players and someone else who's average. This about consistency across all three positions. Agreed that Mett-Hill-Landry/OBJ isn't at the top but going with A&M because of Manziel/Evans without regard to their RB doesn't cut it.
Stafford-Knowshon-Green is a great option.

Also wanted to add McCoy-Charles-Shipley but Charles was gone before McCoy and Shipley really started to take over.

UF in '96 would be tough to beat on the college level if you include the full combo:
Wuerffel
Fred Taylor
Ike Hilliard
Reidel Anthony
Jacquez Green
i think taylor was the 3rd string rb behind terry jackson and elijah williams
