But BIRD was the best player AND shooter of this group. it doesn't have to be all about three pointers... Bird could make ANY shot from ANYWHERE.... The other three??? Not so sure...……..

If someone told me that golden state had the three best shooters of all time, I would not disagree.

Truly the GOAT nba team ever assembled. No one compares when it comes to talent.

Larry flat out didn't shoot enough 3s for me to consider him in the top 5 for greatest shooters.

That’s a non-starter of an argument imo. You’re acting as if Bird couldn’t hit threes. He most certainly could, but the game wasn’t played on the wings as much back then. Bird would have been a top 3 point guy in this day as well.

Also you have to add in that Bird had many more moves to get his buckets than either Steph, Klay, or Ray Allen who are all ahead of him in this list.

Steve Kerr averaged less than 1 three made per game for his entire career.

The guy was an 8th or 9th option on multiple Championship teams and benefited from playing with some of the greatest players of all time, literally.

One of the most overrated basketball players (and coaches by the way) of all time.

Overrated coach? Lol.

-benched All Star David Lee for Draymond Green
-convinces Iggy, their free agent signing, that the team is better if he runs the second unit
-installs an actual offense that truly unlocks GSW

Yeah every coach needs talent, but stop pretending Kerr isn’t a great coach, (or worse that Mark Jackson is) Kerr will be an all timer when it’s said and done.

Only NBA jersey I owned was a Reggie Miller one. I loved his attitude and his shooting ability.

The final point, if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, the offense Kerr implemented was so revolutionary that basically every team in the league has copied it to some extent.

People talk about the 3 point revolution, Kerr was the coach who put that in place for the Warriors.

Of course talent plays a role, but it does for every coach. Phil Jackson is never famous if he'd been hired to coach a Bulls team led by Dave Corzine and Orlando Woolridge. But, he got Jordan/Pippen, handled them well and the rest is history.

Bird had a worse 3 pt % than those guys. You think if he shot 5x as many threes he would make 4% more of them like Klay?

I love Bird and probably pick him to get me 2 points at the end of a game over anyone, including Michael.

But he wasn't as good of a 3 pt shooter as those guys I listed earlier. If I need a 3, he's not top 5 and I think that disqualifies him from being the best shooter ever.

His moves on short jumpers and his high release were unstoppable though, I'll give you that.

Bird didn’t practice the 3 or shoot as much as Klay and Steph, whose entire game revolves around that shot.

If he practiced shooting three pointers more? Yes. If they put more of an emphasis on the three back then like they do now, I'm sure he would've adapted his game

-shot chart/selection and defensive attention
-training and drills
-today’s strategy

Completely blow up this argument.

A lot of that was his first couple years. He came into the league the year they adopted the 3 point shot, and teams didn't know how to use it.

From 84-85 on, he was at or above 40% from 3 basically every year. Bird totally belongs where he is on this list, and I'm not even a particularly big fan of his.
